Could he possibly be the latest heir apparent??

Yes...to Prince of course.

I know that gets thrown out a lot and all the snooty Purple Majesty fans totally balk at the notion with the most righteous of indignations, however this guy drips of Prince's influence.

The artist's name is Gallant and his song 'Gentleman' is a direct train on the Prince express with a brief fuel break in Maxwell-D'angelo. Ok I'm corny...but check it out.

His track 'Sweet Insomnia' is also off the chizzy

That'd be a no then. Decent ballad though.

Not the heir apparent but both his albums, particularly 'Ology', are well worth a listen.

I just listened to "Gentleman" after reading the OP's post. I like it. I wouldn't put him in the same group as Prince, but I haven't listened to his other stuff yet. I'll give it a listen on my way home from work this morning.
