Watching YouTube without ads

I'm posting this on 2 forums, cause that's where people read it:

Freetube app is what you need:

Working on Linux, for me.

Unfortunately, I hate watching YouTube on my laptop or phone and only do it on my smart tv. The interruptions are soul sucking.

Just download the Brave browser. Excellent browser that cuts out all youtube adverts as a default.

I have Brave. For those that don't know, it's based on Chromium, so any extension etc that runs on Google Chrome, runs on Brave. The plus of Brave is that there are none of those trackers and other bullshit backend things that Google puts in Chrome. Brave keeps your privacy much more private.

I've never had an ad not play on YouTube as a results of Brave, though.

Didn't know about Brave; thanks for the info. Get tired of using C-cleaner every two minutes.

Just a note, i still use an adblocker in Brave. AdBlock.

Brave has a built-in blocker of sorts. There's a red shield to the right of the URL. You can easily disable it if a site is still saying you have an adblocker going or something. Otherwise, it's a pretty great browser. Import bookmarks, settings, etc., was the easiest I've ever seen. Underneath it's the exact same as Chrome, just lighter. And I like that Google isn't secretly gathering 411 on me in their browser.

Yeah, I use Adblock on Chrome--that's why I'm glad to hear about Brave. Basically the same thing without the J. Edgar Hoover shit. razz lol

I use the AdBlock Plus extension and it works fabulous in Firefox, which I use with DuckDuckGo as search engine.

The only Google product I still use is Gmail. Does anyone know a e-mail service (paid if I have to) where my emails won't be read and used for marketing purposes?

F#ck Big Tech companies!

It does nothing of the Sort! sad I've been using it for AGES. If you turn cookies off, it seems there's less Youtube ads, for sure.

Cuts out some other banner ads tho.

You could look into www.protonmail.com. Never used it, but if your mail is encrypted, then how can they scan it? Yeah?

I don't get a single advert. Youtube plays seemlessly with no adds and no delay. I never had to change the settings and have no extensions. Just make sure the Brave shield is on and ad-blocker is not installed.

Google have been attempting to get round it, but so far, I've never seen an ad. That was one of Brave's big selling points. https://community.brave.c.../131882/59

OK, I'll try it again.
