So nobody here has listened to Miley Cyrus new album? . Never been a fan of hers but this new work has me all excited. Great voice, great lyrics and good 80s-like vibe. (I checked but couldn't find a previous post in the org) . It's called Plastic Hearts It was released a couple of weeks ago. I hope you enjoy it!

Haters . I knew it was coming when I saw this thread. Y'all got the right I guess . I like her, have since she started being naked everywhere (which I can also appreciate  ). Her vocals r kinda all over the place sometimes, but that's part of what's cool about her. This new album is very decent n I need more time with it. I felt the need 2 revisit her Dead Pets record today. I love that shit to pieces, care what nobody says  .For all time I am with you, you are with me. | |

I have. Although it'd be more accurate to say I've heard it rather than I listened to it. My little sister was listening to it and I was in the room. It's not my cup of tea. I've heard her do one or two decent cover versions of songs in the last few years to see that there's something there talent-wise. But her own music is not to my taste. | |

Midnight Sky is a pretty decent song. I picked up on its Stevie Nicks Edge of Seventeen vibe even before I heard the mashout mix. I couldn't stand Miley during the Wrecking Ball era but this new albIum and her vibe seems more palatable for us Gen X'ers, IMO. |

One of the reasons i generally shy away from Miley is the "shock" its always there in some way through most of her career, and I know people say seperate the person and their attitude and its not necessarily the attitude becuase many artists have attitudes, its hype that overshadows you, this is my issue with Kanye and others, your talk is so loud I forget you do music. Now I did listen to most of this regret because I feel her days have calmed, plus I like the fact that Billy Idol, Joan Jett and one of my favorite new artists Dua Lipa is on here. Now you take someone like DUA who like it or not she has gotten more and more attention because she is very accessible and you dont worry what she is going to say, could have something to do about her upbringing and coming from very very tough situations, where as Miley was born into fame already and stardom. But overall I like some songs on here, all of the collaborations I like. That's not true. He has several country Top 20s. He has the longest running #1 on the pop chart which is the duet with Lil Nas X (Old Town Road). The album Achy Breaky Heart is on almost made it to diamond status. Not too many actual "one hit wonders" can say that about their album sales. Billy Ray also had a fairly popular TV show (Doc) that lasted 5 seasons. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton | |
