So The 'MODERN Era/Period' of Music Videos Had Actually Began in the 1960s?

Music videos began in the 1920s and were called soundies. Then around the early 1960s, they were called scopitones. The Monkees TV show also had videos and Mike Nesmith is kinda behind the creation of MTV. The Monkees sitcom itself was probably the first to have the style of editing that MTV videos later became known for. You could even say early 1970s children's TV shows like Sesame Street & Electric Company had music videos. Movie musicals are sort of a series of videos with some talking parts between them.

Music videos didn't officially begin at any one time, it was a gradual thing.

Beatles made videos to be played for when they couldn't make a tv show. Dead End Street by the Kinks is indistinguishable from music videos from later on.

There's excerpted clips of Fats Waller taken from revue movies and the like playing songs that would have been played on tv or in movie theatres in the 30s etc.
