The Rolling Stones... Numero Uno !

Followed by Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Who, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Band, The Beach Boys, Parliament-Funkadelic, Earth Wind and Fire, The Clash, The J Geils Band

I asked for only one band, but damn, that's a pretty good list!
If you take any of this seriously, you're a bigger fool than I am.

I don't own one record by them, but as a band, The Eagles had an amazing depth of talent.

But, that's just under "rock band".

Big band?

Boy band?

Country band?

shrug

Welcome to "the org", nayroo2002… life, it ain't real funky unless it's got that pop

Some of the reasons I like the 60's were these bands:

-Byrds (precursors to the Eagles)

-Kinks

-Sly and the Family Stone

-Cream

-Janis Joplin and the Holding Co.

-Led Zep

-Jimi Hendrix and the Experience

-Beatles

-Stones

-Santana

-The Who

-Doors

-Velvet Underground

-The Ramones

-Jefferson Airplane

Might be the wrong thread, but oh well...

There are 2cd sets for each, called “Essential “... great sound and song selection

If you want an actual album, I would recommend “Surrealistic Pillow “ by Jefferson Airplane and “Cheap Thrills” for Janis & Big Brother

Agree. Love Surrealistic Pillow.

Great solo album for Janis is "Pearl"-really bluesy/soulful.

Alice in Chains - great songs, vocal harmonies like no other and Jerry Cantrell is underrated as a guitarist
