the criteria I would offer is singing (range, control), dancing, songwriting, and noticeably above avg on at least one instrument. that said, my once upon a future baby mama (Janet) doesn't make this list, nor does Mariah, Whitney, Madonna, etc etc. My one vote is cast for Aretha: piano prowess, writing, singing, (range includes her pinch hitting for Pavorotti on ND at the Grammys, remember that!), AND she could "rock steady" in her prime [Edited 11/5/20 16:26pm] | |
