Jam & Lewis to release their first ever album next year

https://www.billboard.com...IqrM4JG44k

It's supposed to be a collaborative project with various artists similar to a DJ Khaled album. I'm stoked!

They have been saying an album is coming out since the 1980s when they were supposed to be a band with Monte Moir called The Secret. They got Stevie Wonder beat at announcing stuff that never comes out. razz

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis did a lil studying and apprenticing under Leon Sylvers and at Solar in 1982-83..
Popping up on Klymaxx's second album..and tracks off a supposed 1983 klymaxx album,Dynasty's "Right back at cha"..
doin work on Sylvers produced SOS Band III..

Yeah i love that LA and Babyface sound 1986-90..
Babyface"lovers album,Cat Miller,The Deele eyes of a stranger album,
Shalamar's"Circumstancial Evidence" album,
Whispers" in the mood,Rock Steady....
Bobby Brown "dont be cruel" album..
Karyn Whites solo album,
The Boys"Dial my heart"...pebbles,Johnny gill,Mac Band..
Babyface "tender lover" ..After 7..

Pharell and Chad(The Neptunes)kinda remind me of them..
Instantly recognizable sound..

The lack of Thom Bell on both your lists is what's truly egregious.

my only gripe with the Philly International movement was that all those joints pretty much sound alike... MFSB, Lou Rawls, Billy Paul, Harold Melvin & The Bluenotes, OJays, Spinners, Patti Labelle, Teddy Pendergrass, Three Degrees, etc....all that stuff was pretty interchangeable... all the beats sound similar...

You're right.I didn't listen to alot of Philly soul..
I'm gonna make that one of my life's missions to..
The ones i mentioned just had a profound immediate effect on me in R&B/Jazz

This is like when an orger says "all Prince ballads sound the same" in the other forum.
