MAN!!!! I'll come back 2 this LATER! But for NOW, If None of You haven't yet (and there may be Some), cop the FIRST 3 Sly & The Family Stone Albums: 1)A Whole New Thing (1967) 2)Dance To The Music (1968) & Life (1968). Among These You will find such Gems as:

-Underdog (sampled on Cypress Hill's 1st Album)

-Advice (Sampled in Ice Cube's "AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted")

-I Cannot Make It

-Trip To Your Heart (Mama Said Knock You Out, Anyone??)

-Higher

-Are You Ready

-Color Me True (Outro used on Craig Mack's 1st Album"s Intro)

-Into My Own Thing (George Clinton bit the Words & Fatboy Slim sampled the Intro)

-Jane Is A Groupee (A WHOLE 7 Years before Funkadelic's "No Head, No Backstage Pass")

Re: the bolded, I guess you learn somthing new every day. In all of these 30+ years, I never noticed either of those samples. Thanks.

Underdog is a wonderful song, not their best but among them.

It could have been included on a Tarantino movie.

1)The "Yeah Yeeeeeeeeaahhhhh" on Cypress Hill"s "Real Estate" come from Sly's "Underdog"

2)The Horn run in Cube's "AmeriKKKa's Most" comes from Sly's "Advice"

cool cool

Understood but try Small Talk one more time. Kinda like Public Enemy's Apocalypse '91- not nearly as solid or consistent as the albums that proceeded it but still has some really great songs. After Small Talk, yeah I lost interest too...

ok so i went back and checked it out... youre right... i slept on that joint for real.. it fucked me up when i heard "Mother Beautiful" and realized Bilal sampled that joint to make probably his best song ever, "M.I.L.F."... "Loose Booty" was the only song i had remembered from that lp...i had no recollection of any other song on the album.. i feel like this might be my first time ever hearing it. "who's the reason for my daddy's grin?.... its truuuuu...its truuuuu.." damn https://youtu.be/g8R_i8I7LFQ

Wow! shocked

I slept on this album with the same attitude in regards to the work after Fresh and holy shit!
