Jennifer Lopez - If You Had My Love

Chante Moore - If I Gave Love

This was Diddy's doing, and was recently talked about on here.

Fatback Band-I Found Lovin and Ca$hflow-Mine All Mine

I wonder what the story is with these two songs."Mine All Mine" is one of my favorite 80s jams.I loved it back in 1986.Then years later, someone told me that it has the music from a previous song: Fatback Band's "I Found Lovin" ( a track from 1983 that I hadn't heard).I was shocked. It's the exact same music and groove! hmmm

Larry Blackmon produced Ca$hflow so it's a good question.

Barbara Acklin ~ Am I The Same Girl

Young-Holt Unlimited ~ Soulful Strut

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Dokken ~ Alone Again

Michael Jackson ~ Give In To Me

Marvin Gaye ~ Got To Give It Up
Bunny Sigler ~ Let Me Party With You

The Jacksons ~ Shake Your Body (only the chorus, not the music)

David Bowie ~ Fame
James Brown ~ Hot (I Need To Be Loved, Loved, Loved, Loved)

James Brown was "Jackin For Beats" when Ice Cube was a Baby! Hell Yeah he STOLED that from David Bowie!! I also submit that 'The Grunt" was jacked from The Isley Brothers' "Keep On Doin"

I never heard the Barbara Acklin song but I do remember Soulful Strut. My mom
had that 45 when I was a kid. I wouldn't be surprised if she was a labelmate and they played on the record as they were musicians for Brunswick.

yep biggrin but here's something that's funny. Some people think that Rick may have "borrowed" the bassline from Keni Burke's 1982 hit "Rising To The Top" when he created the Mary Jane Girls' 1983 hit "All Night Long" hmmm nuts smile

The Swing Out Sister remake from the 1990s is more well known than the original.

Rod Stewart's Do Ya Think I'm Sexy? sounds like these 2 songs put together, sort of like an early mashup:

Bobby Womack ~ Put Something Down On It

Jorge Ben ~ Taj Mahal

Odyssey ~ Inside Out
Slave ~ Watching You

I love all of these songs below, but there are obvious similarities even with the same writers/producers. In this case, Jam & Lewis:

Encore and Fidelity with Cheryl Lynn

Just Be Good To Me

Just The Way You Like It

Borrowed Love with The S.O.S. Band

That's The Way Love Goes

No Sleeep with Janet Jackson

and Hungah with Karyn White.

I'm not complainin' tho. I, to this very day,

adore all of these joints!

Hope ya'll r bein' safe and that y'all enjoy your

Holidays in good health. Much luv!

Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.
