Some that I can think of easily, are Cher with Believe. This one still shocks me. She was over 30 years into her career, 53 years old and BAM! She dropped hr biggest album and hit of her entire career. Another one is Mariah Carey. Some people call TEOM the biggest comeback of all time and i agree. It's also her best album in my opinion and We Belong Together is one of, if not her signature song. Then also Tina Turner. She had her huge hit album Private Dancer which became her biggest era at 44 years old, decades into her career as well.

And me and some other Mariah fans think The Emancipation of Mimi is her best album. Some still think it's Butterfleis, Daydream and Emotion too though

Aerosmith. RUN DMC re-introduced them to a new audience and after the "Permanent Vacation" album was a hit, they became the MTV/pop radio darlings from the late 80's to the early 2000's.

Agree on both of them, although I don't know how great of an album Believe is, but I know what a great album TOM is, and what an amazing comeback it meant for Mariah, however I do not consider it to be her best album, that goes to Butterfly but surely in her top 5 or 3.

Even though it was an album of covers, it reminded people of how great the man in black was late in his career. The movie may or may not have helped as well but I enjoyed it and gave me little more appreciation of the man behind the music.

Now that you mention Dylan he had a great comeback with Time Out Of Mind he got the Grammy for Album of The Year, and every single critic hailed the album as a great comeback after almost a decade without a great new album. Although he found comercial and critical success with Unplugged.

Paul hadn't had a Top 10 hit single in the USA since the early 1980s, unless you count Free As A Bird by The Beatles. Even that was in the 1990s.

Agree that bedtime and erotica were great! But ray of light was critically acclaimed and won Grammys, so it totally deserved to be mentioned as agoodcome ack I would even say prince musicology was also a great comeback paired with a successful tour
