Why make fun of his looks? There’s nothing wrong with him, some of you just like to start shit

People made fun of Chadwick Boseman when he made that video earlier this year, the internet is full of trolls and bullies. Some were saying he was on drugs, when they did not know what was going on.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I get you’re being partially facetious, but his hair was still pretty stylish until the latter-half of the 90’s. And even after, he really didn’t get too far gone on top until the last ten or so. He’s also just recovered from a kidney transplant, so I’m surprised that at the release of new music, his hair is the topic? He’s still got quite a few dreads left, I see no need for a haircut. I guess I’m contributing to the discourse, just seems odd to me.

At any rate, I’m glad he’s coming out with new music and has recovered from his kidney transplant. We don’t have many of his stature left, and I’m not sure if there are any future legends like him in the making.

I didn't know Wendy Williams posts on this site. What's it to you how he wears his hair? It's not your life. This thread is not about Stevie's hair, but his new music and record deal. Like you saying the singers in the country music thread look scary which has nothing to do with anything. If you want to discuss that, make a thread about it like those people always talking how Madonna & LaToya (LeToya) Jackson are the most beautiful. Hollywood0024 makes his/her own threads about looks.

Stevie said he came up with “Where Is Our Love Song” when he was 18. I bet he has tons of melodies and chords in his head and just never know when he wants to lay it down for a track. Probably just a little tune he had in his head and just randomly decided to expand on it.

Pretty cool to have a mind for music like that.

Stevie's last studio album is "A Time To Love" from 2005. Not many people like that one I guess, but it's actually a very solid album! Classic "wonderesque" songwriting throughout! I also saw him live on that tour.

Actually is his best album in 20 years or his best since Hotter Than July.

OK...Stevie Wonder made very much recordings in his whole life....but there are musicians like Peter Gabriel (solo) , Kate Bush and Sade...when you look back at their life as musicians...there's so much lifetime ...I would say...wasted...and waiting ten or fifteen years until the next album comes up....so different than Prince.

You could also say that Prince wasted his life by spending so much time in the studio. There is more to life than work, now isn't there? But it's different for everybody. I love both Prince and Kate Bush. The first had so much music in his head that he just needed to get it all out, the other took her time to make her album the best she could. One isn't better or worse than the other.

I don't like the rap on Can't Put, it gets annoying, the other song is great like it much better.

I agree, he sounds like a guest on his own record. The music is pretty good, though. Where Is Our Love Song is classic Stevie.
Anyway, thanx, Micky for posting this!

Indeed, but a good song nonetheless.

I love it. I was not a dedicated Stevie fan when it came out either, I was just getting deeper into his work beyond his greatest hits.

ICYMI: The video for "So What The Fuss" has Stevie singing keyboards in front of a backdrops that mimics his Songs in the Key of Life album cover.

Hoping these two singles are a precursor to an album. 15 years is such a damn long time. Stevie was 55 then and he's 70 now!

His album releases don’t give you the full picture. He’s toured a ton - and I do mean a ton - he’s done hundreds or thousands of television performances at talk shows, award shows, specials, etc. He’s been a featured artist on hundreds of other songs... he’s kept incredibly busy. It’s one thing to wish he’d release more albums the last 25 or 30 years, but to say he hasn’t been making music is another.

I agree, and many artist need a break from having to release new music. It certainly doesn't mean they are not still making new music. Good for him, for getting a new contract and lease on music.

There are a lot of older artists suddenly putting out new music this year; Covid may have caused a sense of urgency...
