Party all the time Does anyone else laugh at this song and video? I think it’s a good song but it’s like comedy watching Eddie take himself seriously as a singer even though he has a decent voice

The song with Snoop Lion has over 32 million views. I wonder what happened to Snoop Lion, I don't think he put out anything else. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I agree, and that's exactly why I laugh at it.

Great song. A lot of Aries are musicians/singers/cops/psychologists/directors, etc. Rick was an Aquarius. Those signs are very honest/intelligent and can offend others with their "words". My Mercury is in Aquarius.

No joke, I'm watching a news talk show, and they go to break, guess what song they played? That's right, "Party All The Time" ...Immediately I started laughing, and wondering if perhaps our computers are being bugged.

I think the song was trending at one point so it may have to do with that

Yes I laugh at it a lot, I've been watching it every second day for the last month because it keeps staying in my recommendations. I agree, the faces are hysterical, Eddie cups his lil' headphones and laments the materialism of his GF into the mic, while Rick James Bitch bounces along and claps his hands in the studio like he has constructed some masterpiece. The song is pure corn syrup, just shows P was leagues ahead as a producer by this point and Eddie knew this too, considering his straight up P imitation on "Put Your Mouth on Me", a much more palatable slice of 80s cheese. I'm afraid of Americans. I'm afraid of the world.

That’s awesome you get the humour too and watch it often!!! Even when he put the headphones on and was smiling, I was giggling [Edited 10/15/20 21:18pm]

The fact that Rick produced a song for a comedian because they were friends does not make Prince leagues better than him as a producer. Just take the Purple glasses off a second and realize Prince produced trash for Carmen Electra, Vanity/Appollonia 6 with the exception of a few songs, the Graffiti Bridge soundtrack and some albums of his own the latter part of his career although still great live. I doubt seriously Eddie Murphy sat around one day and said I'm going to record this Prince like record called Put Your Mouth On Me because Prince is a better producer than Rick James by miles. The truth behind Put Your Mouth On Me is that after Eddie's How Could It Be album he stated he took the album real serious because he wanted to seperate his music from his comedy and while he stated he got some love for it overall fans just didn't seem to take him seriously. The whole idea behind Put Your Mouth On Me was to add a comedic element to it since fans love him for his comedy and ride with him for the music as well. You can see the fun he had in doing the music video. The song got a lot of airplay with Narada Michael Walden handling the production and it obviously worked charting all the way up to #2 R&B. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

I like the song. It's catchy and it's fun. Eddie probably could have sung it better but he doesn't sound bad like the general consensus says he does. My only issue with this track is how this was the only way Rick got on MTV. Fuck Les Garland's bitch ass.

"I read in an interview where Prince said that Eddie wanted him to produce his record..I thought; 'Uh-oh, too bad for Eddie'..The last thing he needed was to end up sounding like a sterile Prince clone"......."One day Eddie called me and asked me to produce him. I immediately asked him what happened to Prince. Eddie told me he'd met with Prince in L.A. and thought Prince was a (homophic slur)"....."He said Prince sat across from him at meeting staring into his eyes, and a couple of times during the meeting, he gave the impression that he might be gay"......."He said Prince quietly stared at him while putting his fingers in his drink and licking them"......"Eddie said when he saw that, he said 'F%$# it'..........."The 'Party All The Time' video was the first one featuring me to ever play on MTV. I was surprised to finally get air time, but it was Eddie's video, and Eddie was hosting the MTV awards, so I looked at it as another political move on MTV's part"......."MTV also aired the Mary Jane Girls' video 'In My House' and The Doo Rags' 'Stomp And Shout', so I felt I was making a little headway with MTV, even though they still weren't playing my videos"......from the book "The Confessions Of Rick James - Memoirs Of A SuperFreak" by Rick James.

Honestly, sometimes I think Prince did things like that just to mess with others, and get them to talk about him.....and they did! Prince definitely knew how to play the fame game, before there ever was a Kardashian.

I would have thought give it to me baby got airplay When it comes to Rick and MTV, all that is mentioned is the "Super Freak" video and how they refused to air it, Rick called the network out on their racist double standards and consequently they refused to play any of his music; till "Party All The Time", that is. EDIT: Also The Mary Jane Girls' "In My House" [Edited 10/28/20 6:09am]
