Steve Lukather talks about "Beat It" This video is from 10 months ago, but I just happened across it today. Toto's Steve Lukather talks about how he got to work on Thriller, met Paul & Linda McCartney, Quincy's nickname for him, and how he helped shape moments in "The Girl is Mine," and "Beat It."

Luke is the man. He also co-wrote (and played piano on) George Benson's hit "Turn Your Love Around". |

I freakin' love that song. It's so catchy. Great tune.
I was really happy to find this video about "Beat It." "Billie Jean" was played on American Bandstand the first time I heard it. It was okay, but not great. Then I heard "Beat It" a few weeks later. That's when I lost my mind. I loved every bit of it.
I only mostly remember hearing stories by Quincy about Thriller sessions, and the one story Eddie Van Halen has told over and over. The Toto guys were all over that record, so it's very cool to hear their stories about it.

Me too, and If I'm not mistaken that's the one he worked on. |
