Lol I'd say more in the voice and live performing department. As far as discographies go, it would've been very interesting to see Knight and Franklin go at it lol No disrespect to LaBelle's though.

I'm not really a Patti LaBelle fan (she screams too much) so I'll be cheering for Ms Gladys.

Was never a huge Gladys fan although her voice has grown on me over time. I will have to go with Patti on this one.

I'm still at a loss as to why Aretha did that.
lol
Gladys is my favorite female vocalist of all time but Patti is no joke.
There will be no loser in this battle. For those saying Patti scream too much
probably missed the BET awards last year when Ann Nesby hollered over all
45 members of Sounds Of Blackness lol

Well damn. Aretha was something else.

Aretha: I don't think listeners wanna wait that long to hear my voice after a long intro.

Luther: Trust me the listener will be intoxicated by the groove of the intro and will be excited to

hear your voice afterwards

Aretha: Who has the most hits?

Luther: You do. But who has the latest hit?

Aretha doesn't answer and storms out faint

I love Gladys & Patti EQUALLY.

maybe maybe MAYBE by a VERY SLIGHT EDGE.. 1 could MAYBE argue that the quality of Gladys' voice is.. slightly.. discernably better than Patti's..

MAYBE.

I'll see you tonight..
in ALL MY DREAMS..

Now you talking. Can you imagine if Louis Johnson were still alive him vs Larry Graham?

That would have been slap bass heaven of epic proportions.

As for Gladys Knight I Don't Want To Do Wrong and When You're Far Away or 2 gems with the

Pips I love.

you are right, but i guess my thought is that when it does, it underwhelms, doesn't live up to the hype, etc. my wife has been fooling with verzuz quite a bit, so i'm in PROXIMITY to it, but it doesn't PULL me in. i don't harp on the negative with things generally, but i've heard about them forgetting their lyrics and what not. Brandy v Monica's ratings and record sales surprised the hell out me because i don't feel Monica has the hits and neither of their new music does anything for me. I thought Jill vs. Erykah would've caught on like Monica v Brandy. the lasting impression of the entire series so far for me (and again, hearing and seeing the "spillage" on social media) is the aftermath of Teddy Riley vs. Babyface. That produced quite a few belly laughs, memes, and the best banter ever on social media. I guess they're sticking to "living" artists for their pairings thought

I guess for me these singers are some of my all time favourites and they just don't get the spotlight like they used.

I was surprised at the songs I forgot from both Brandy and Monica
