I gotta say, this year has been pure, absolute garbage but there's been some good music coming out.

Maybe I'm just starting to pay more attention to what's out there beyond the mainstream but I haven't purchased/listened to as many new albums since 2015.

Do you mean new albums that were release for the first time in 2020 or do you mean an album that came out yrs ago that I've just discovered and purchased in 2020?

1. Tom Misch & Yussef Dayes - "What Kinda Music". Just a great album if you are into meticulously played experimental moody music with balls, beautiful textures and lush production. Plus Yussef Dayes is an amazing drummer!

2. Lianne La Havas - "Lianne La Havas". This album is a real grower with beautiful songs, Lianne seems to have finally reached her potential in album form.

3. Khruangbin & Leon Bridges - "Texas Sun". Leon Bridges delivers the great vocals that Khruangbin as a group is missing and Khruangbin delivers the atmospheric soulful music that Leon as a solo artist is missing. A match made in heaven!

4. Louis Cole - "Live 2019". Great recap from his solo tour, I was at one of the two concerts were this album was recorded. Check out the live video of the complete album on Youtube.

5. Dua Lipa - "Future Nostalgia". A fun and well made discofunk dancepop album. Great production.

RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

I haven’t bought anything new in a while. I’m guessing the new Chris Stapleton CD will be a favorite and of course Fetch the Bolt cutters by Fiona. Alana Davis last year release was a favorite.
