Duran Duran were the Backstreet Boys, N'sync of their time. I prefer the Jackson Five or New Edition.

Never trust a band who's fans are mostly 14 year old girls.

Duran Duran are a band that composes their own music and plays instruments. They only had teeny bop fans because they were good looking, and those fans who only liked them for that reason are long gone. Those of us who actually listened to the music are still diging them. They have released cds in the 90s...

Ahhh, 2freaky, once again your ignorance is showing. Duran Duran were NOT the Backstreet or N'Sync of their time, for one simple reason: they were not a manufactured act. Their look, sound and songs were all of their own creation. They appealed to young girls because their New Romantic look was attractive to them (the same was true of most of the New Romantic bands, Like Adam & The Ants). They wrote ALL of their songs, and played ALL of their instruments. They never had a record label telling them what to do, or how to make their music. In other words, they were genuine.

Duran Duran put out some of the smartest tunes of the 80s and 90s. They only had the rabid teen following for a couple of years, after which, a more mature fan base grew. In that regard, they are no different from Prince (who also had a rabid teen following in 84 & 85). Don't judge them just because they were once pretty boys. Their later albums, such as Notorious and The Wedding Album were wildly successful with critics, as well as fans.

Learn a little about the subject before you make a blanket statement. Otherwise, you just look like a fool.

Just wait until they bring back your Nsync and your Brittney, and your Snoop and your Nelly, you Vice City viedo games, people with feel that empty feeling and wonder what REALLY was the fuss was about...

Uh, I was a Duran Duran fan and I played Atari. I don't know how old you think I am. I don't listen to Britney, NSYNC, Nelly, or Snoop

Absolutely! In fact, I know just as many straight male DD fans as I do females and gay males. (I'm one of the straight males, myself). For me, this isn't really a comeback, since I've followed them through all their incarnations. This is just a return to their roots. I cannot wait to hear the new stuff!

Oh, and yes, Vina does indeed rock!
