Any of you care for Jewel? I know her peak was in the late 90's.I dont really listen to music like her's but I have always took a liking to her music and voice. It is very soothing. I have been listening to "You were meant for me" and "Who will save your soul" a lot lately. Other than her hits,I do not know much of her music. Is her catalog worth checking out beyond the hits?

I used to listen to her first couple of albums in the late 90s. Morning Song was my jam. "Not everything that is faced can be changed; but nothing can be changed until it is faced." - James Baldwin

Jewel is one of my favorite singers/musicians. Her Sun Sign is Gemini.
Some of my favorite songs are: Spirit Hands. Standing Still. Who Will Save Your Soul. Pieces of You. Foolish Games. You Were Meant For Me. Have A Little Faith in Me. Break Me. Intuition. Daddy. I Love You Always Forever. [Edited 7/16/20 17:05pm]

I thought her first three albums were much better than all the subsequent releases. It seems that she got progressively blander, even with attempts at dance music and country. I do like her vibe.

I liked her voice and her songs but was way more into r&b and hip hop that time so didn’t pay that much attention to her. Now I think her work has aged well

Despite that being true also for me, her debut album was played to death over here. For some reason I never bothered with any with her subsequent releases and I attempted to re-listen to her debut recently and I couldn't make it to the end. I guess you need to be in a special mood for that and I was more often into that mood as a young adult than now.

I think that some of my appreciation for her debut was that she was so young when she wrote much of it (early and mid teens I believe). So, when I hear it, I try to appreciate it from the perspective of here is a young girl who is really open emotionally and not yet so defended about the world. I don't necessarily relate to much of it personally but I think it is poetic and refreshing from that vantage point. I don't think anyone thought it would be the tremendous smash that it was, with three huge singles and millions of album sales. It isn't your typical pop music. I always like it when something that sounds different than the Top 40 formula actually makes it there. [Edited 7/18/20 6:57am]

Yes, I must admit, I feel a bit like that about it myself. "Not everything that is faced can be changed; but nothing can be changed until it is faced." - James Baldwin
