Go-Go’s documentary on Showtime

When I was a kid I was a huge fan of the Go-Go's. I still think Our Lips Are Sealed is as good as any song the Beatles wrote. This documentary is good. I wish they would release some of the live music used in it. Definitely rocks harder than the album versions. Can't find it on YouTube. And their new song Club Zero is pretty good.

Such a well done documentary, balanced with interviews from EVERY body, even the chicks they stepped on while they climbed the ladder!

Awesome rare footage and archival sound.

Hard to believe that crazy rollercoaster was in the matter of five years basically! eek

I have an interesting Go-Gos memory biggrin

In the late spring of '82 (May or June?),our family got cable TV for the first time. And of course,MTV was all the rage.It was new and exciting. We instantly started watching it and they kept airing a promo commerial: "This Friday night,we will have the world premiere of the new Go Gos video,"Vacation"

the good ol' days lol gotta love the 80s

And Joan Jett got in all timed around a Runaways documentary. If she can get in then for sure the Go-Go's and Pat Benatar should be in.

Great docu. I learned a lot that I didn’t know. Hopefully the Broadway play will succeed next year. I like the new single. Jane and Charlotte still look good. I’m glad none of them did any facial surgery. Brings back tons of those summers in the early eighties. Not really important but didn’t delve into their private relationships if they ever married and children. Still a fast moving docu. I did try to find the SNL performance and couldn’t find it.

Checked it out and it more than held my interest. As an 80s kid with MTV, I knew them and can recall a few songs but didn't know 1.) they started as a punk band (and it makes sense now looking back in retrospect), 2.) that "We Got The Beat" started out as a punk song (and that makes sense now too), and 3.) that they had so many albums with hits. Definately belong in the HOF.
