Favorite Ye West tracks?

A lot of things can be said about the dude’s character (especially relating to recent weirdness) but no one can deny his talent. Though if you haven’t checked out the live Christian renditions of his songs, I recommend them. Even if religion totally like annoys you, the energy of the stuff being live makes up for it

Anyways, here’s the best Kanye tracks at least for me:

1) Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1 — this track includes the infamous bleach line. But pretty much any rendition of this song is glorious. The Sunday Service version is beautiful if you like live better
2) Ghosttown — one of his best more recent tracks. This song samples “Take Me For a Little While.” Tho i love the way its used, in Ghosttown the progression is resolved better imo.
3) Streetlights - 808s is an innovative masterpiece and the sound/style inspired artists such as Drake and Travis Scott. This track is hands down the best. I watched the Jesus Is King movie in IMAX theaters and the best scene in that short film is the rendition of this song. Kanye isn’t the best singer, he’s not a real vocalist, but when he stays in the pocket and doesn’t try to do things he can’t do, he sounds good... especially in emotional songs you can tell he feels. This song got me through some rough nights, I’ll just say that lol
4) Dark Fantasy — what can i say? Song has been played to death but i still love the beat and the lyrics are great. Imo some of his great lyrics
5) Ultralight Beam — this song is so good. This and other tracks in TLOP is how I got into Chance The Rapper, and his verse is the best verse here. This song is also of course the highlight of Kanye’s Sunday Services.

What are your favorite Kanye songs?

Despite the dumb statements of the last few years, lots.

*

Kanye tracks (off the top of my head):

-Get 'Em High

-Golddigger

-Monster

-Diamonds w/ Jay-Z

-Jesus Walks

-Mercy

*

Kanye beats:

-Guess Who's Back (Scarface)

-Down and Out (Camron)

-Get By (Talib)

-The Corner (Common)

-Takeover (Jay-Z)

-The People (Common)

-Otis (The Throne)

*

Off the top of my head. I'm sure replies to this will bring more to mind. Would've claimed "Dark Fantasy" but the OP already pointed that one out.

Welcome 2 Heartbreak

I like Two Words the most, but Freeway's verse was hot garbage...

"Old man's gotta be the old man. Fish has got to be the fish."

In no rigid order, to name a few:

"Late"

"Black Skinhead"

"Father Stretch My Hands, Pt. 1"

"On Sight"

"Heard'Em Say"

"All Falls Down"

"Devil In A Blue Dress"

"We Major"

I think his first 3 albums are absolutely brilliant, but then he lost me a bit after that, still has some brilliant stuff since then (black skinhead is amazing). Also, ‘Family business’ is one of the best songs recorded by anybody. Might have to give his later stuff another try...

I can dig that and that seems to be the general consensus among longtime Kanye fans/observers, but I've always felt that Beautiful Fantasy is not only, by far, his best joint (with all due respect to the 1st 3) but in my Top 5 hip hop albums of all time (depending on which day I make the list).

*

Also, I've come across more than 1 true Kanye fan in my time that swear up and down that 808s is by far his best joint.

Indeed, I think is his best album. Heartbreak is another one, Yeezus and Kids See Ghosts are other two great albums.

Her first album was tight! But my favourite of hers is full moon. To me it sounded like the female companion to Invincible

Agreed. Rodney Jerkins was in his "golden era" during the mid-late 90s.

My favourite album that he produced wasn't even his own! On this date May 24th in 2005, Common released his album, Be.

Arguably his most consistent production from beginning to end.
