It was a good show, considering they had to film it the way they did. Was very nice to see all the tributes and Beyoncé getting the award. I’m curious about what Black Is King will be like

Great show, performances. Jennifer Hudson's cover of the Aretha Franklin's song was sensational!

I didn't watch. Everything has gotten so political and everyone has an agenda and opinion about everything, and seems to think that everyone wants to hear their opinion.....I don't! I'm sick of it all, so thank God that I have the choice to watch or not, and I choose to not. Award shows, tv shows, sports, etc, that used to be fun to watch are no longer fun to watch, simply because they've all become one big political stage.

I read online that 2 Million people watched. More viewers watched this year. That is good.

I read on the Hollywood Reporter that under 2 million watched, in which they stated is not that big of a number, and is down from last year 2019 show, that had a number of 2.43 million.

Agreed with the bolded. All things considered, the format with it's performaces and other vingettes was not unpleasant to watch. The consistent BLM/Erase Racism themes throughout the show was very refereshing and the opening of "Fight The Power 2020" was pretty impressive...

Something really bothers me about this whole "BLM/Erase Racism and Fight The Power 2020" stuff, because to me, racism and race relationships between the races didn't seem to be as horrible and racist as some are making it out it be. To be honest, I think this whole matter has gotten out of hand where racism is concerned. Trust me, I know that there is racist people all over the world, but because of the action of what one cop did to George Floyd, doesn't mean that everyone is a racist or should be branded as one! And I'm a black person that is saying this! Something about this whole thing, calling everyone that's not black, a racist, just doesn't seem right to me. Just my opinion, like it or not.

The 3hrs went by fast too! They should have added two more hrs of performances! Maybe next year? Maybe KRS One could be one of the performers?

Da Baby re-enacted what the police officer did to George Floyd. Many people did not like Da Baby's performance. People should not be mad at Da Baby, they should be mad at cops who abuse their power!

Cops should have a mental evaluation by a psychiatrist a few times before they are hired. Plus extra training a few times a year. Some need to learn how to deal with anger issues, deal with people, etc.

I also did not know many of the new artists. It is good that they performed and got an award! I was a kid in the 80's so you know the music I grew up with!!! 😃 And I would listen to the music my mother listened to from the 70's and 60's, 50's. Good times. I miss the 80's.

And one of the presenters, Marsai from the show "Black-ish", on-line trolls were hating on her. They did not like her hair style or something? Those people are just jealous and envious!

She should dedicate Maino's song, "Hi Hater" to-the-haters online!

Same here, my family would play 70s music in the 80s as well some if not all of the current stuff then

CBS should do it EVERY year for now on they handled it nicely, although BET produces it well every year.. But BET put me through hell this year attending the NAACP Awards when I was treated like royalty last year. I will NEVER attend another BET ceremony again. Unless Janet gets honored or performs or Prince(r.i.p.) comes back.
