Yeah. Luckily he had someone on the HIStory tour who knew what the fuck he was doing, unlike the quack who killed him. It was Michael's mistake though that he wanted a quick solution. A nurse did suggest a sleep therapist, but he wanted quick results.

He may have known what he was doing, but there is also the question of how ethical it was to do, cause it’s not like something someone would have normally used outside a hospital for surgery or a procedure . It should have never happened in the first place, and if tours were the cause, I would have rather had him take care of his health instead of trying to please the masses [Edited 6/29/20 14:35pm]

Obviously it was not ethical, but if you have someone do unethical stuff, at least get someone who's good at it and won't kill you. wink

I still don’t think it was ok for him to use it at that time and that’s probably why he turned to it again cause he probably thought it wouldn’t kill him, but it ultimately did

I know, and I know that many blame the doctor, but it was Michael who hired the doctor, and Michael who rules the doctor followed. There are those that will do anything for money if the price is right, no matter if it's right or wrong, and unfortunately Michael's doctor was one of them. Michael was in control of his own life and what he did in it. Michael may have had fame and fortune, and he was a very talented person, but in my opinion, all that fame and fortune wasn't worth it, because he suffered tremendously in life, and was put through a lot because of it. As shocking as it was, it's no wonder that he used drugs to try and ease his pain. Fame and fortune may seem like a dream, but many pay a hell of a price for it, and Michael was one of them.

I see you are still trying to push your false narrative of Michael using drugs to dull his pain. Let’s not forget that MJ was not using a drug like fentanyl, which is 10 or more times stronger than heroin. Michael’s murder had nothing to do with him taking a drug like that, it had to do with a doctor giving him Propofol to sleep. I know that doesn’t fit your AGENDA, because ypu want to put Michael into same box/situation as your favorite. You can’t manipulate the FACTS in order to fit your script.

What the hell are you talking about? I have no false narrative of Michael using drugs that I'm trying to push, and why would I? And what AGENDA are you accusing me of having, and FACTS to fit what script? Seriously, you need to get a grip, because your theory and idolization about someone that you didn't know, and who didn't know you,or that you even existed is ridiculous and way out there! You seem to need some professional help.

What are YOU talking about? This was a positive thread until you came and screwed it up with your negativity. What does “idolatry” have to do with me disagreeing and refuting your tabloid nonsense? That’s the same weak excuse that people like you want to regurgitate. You have this infantile notion that a person disagreeing with your lies and nonsense , means that a person idolizes that celebrity. BTW, Do YOU idolize your favorite celebrity when you defend him/her against lies, rumor or innuendo? I assume that you have defended your favorite artist many times. Does that mean you idolize him/her? Stop being a childish hypocrite.

I was only giving you the FACTS regarding your twisted narrative. Do you even understand what a narrative is? Are you too immature to handle someone disagreeing with your gibberish? It is what it is and you were manipulating what the facts are. I called you out on what you were saying and that’s the bottomline. Do some research so that you won’t look ridiculous when you spew rumors and innuendo. Grow up because you sound like an immature child trying to take part in a grown up conversation. Seek that professional help that you suggest for others. You need it.

If anyone is laughable, it's you! Acting like some deranged fan who thought he knew Michael Jackson personally. You knew NOTHING about the man, yet act like you were a close personal friend or relative, who was part of his inner circle, and witnessed personally, everything that went on in his life! Did Michael Jackson or his family assign you the job of being his personal defender? Did you accompany Michael to the doctor and witness whatever medication or drug the doctor gave him? Where you there in the room with Michael and the doctor he hired when he died? If anyone needs to grow up it's YOU, with your ridiculous know it all attitude, acting like you were Michael Jackson's personal assistant and good close friend, who knew him intimately! lol You were no more to Michael Jackson than any other crazed fanatic such as yourself! This may come as a shock to you, but he never knew you existed!

Yes. And despite not knowing him day by day, many of us knew way more than others and some of our existences were actually known to him. So people shouldn't assume that he didn't know who we were.

Exactly. It’s baffling when ignorant people spew the infantile words” but he didn’t know you existed”. Of course, any rational fan knows that Michael didn’t know ME personally. However, Michael connected with his fans like no other star/celebrity. We felt his love and compassion. He put his fans above his own well being. He was never arrogant, dismissive, uncaring of his fans. He never took them for granted. Seriously, I haven’t seen that type of compassion from other artists. Michael was not afraid to show his love to his fans and that is the very reason that MJ fans are so loyal, even 11 years of his passing. There is no other fan base in history who has gone through the lies, rumors, manipulation of their favorite as MJ fans have. The true fans have never wavered. We have only become stronger and that’s a beautiful thing to admit.

Which isn't drugs in my book. Cocaine is drugs. Heroin is drugs. Crystal Meth is drugs. Painkillers is medication to help you with a problem. He had a doctor to help him a problem. He didn't use that shit to get high. And it's misleading that in the english language everything is lumped together.

This is the problem in America, people are on medication pretending its not drugs.

Of course its drugs, its highly addictive and many time evens stronger than the other drugs you are mentioning.

The problem is that people get it from doctors so think its ok.

Its not.

It’s so true he really cared about his fans and was so kind to them from what we’ve seen over the years. But I also feel like he wanted to do this is it to not let fans down, and feel a little guilty sometimes

If used right, it is okay. At least more okay than heroin, cocaine and crystal meth. If used incorrectly, the outcome might be the same.

I just think it's very bizarre and unnatural for people (celebrities included) to react that way about someone that they don't know personally or whom they have never met. Prince is my favorite celebrity and I loved him dearly, so much so that you couldn't tell me that I wouldn't someday marry the man. lol However, I knew the difference between reality and fantasy, therefore I didn't fall apart when the man died. Yes, I felt sad, just as I did when Michael Jackson died, but did I fall into a deep depression, cry hysterically, or not be able to get out of bed?.....NO! That's just not a normal and sane reaction, or behavior for someone that I didn't know personally, whom had no idea that I even existed! I understand being a little shocked or upset when a celeb passes, maybe even shed a tear or two, because most of us feel like we know these people personally, but to go into hysterics and not be able to function, being severely depressed over it, that's taking things a bit too far and to the extreme.

[Edited 6/26/20 15:16pm]

I felt a little bit like you, until i heard Prince died and i started crying on the street. Ive learned that you can not judge other peoples grieving.

I was very upset when my dog died, other people think its just an animal.

People don't react "sane", but on emotion.

when a celebriitie dies, it also meas we realise we are getting older, as the people from our youth die, so maybe we also grief about ourselves lol

Yes this is what happened with me too. I was a MJ fan but did not cry when he died and I thought the fans were so OTT when I saw they in hysterics over his death .........THEN Prince died................and I totally understood it - I was crying too many times a day for weeks & I still shed a tear now. I was not able to function properly for days after Prince died and it was made worse because I had only just seen him in February at the Sydney Opera House and I could not reconcile how he could not be still with us when I was still riding that Purple Cloud from the concert...........it was made all the more painful because he was still very real in my mind as I had not long seen him in person.

Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

I know U didn't have the AUDACITY to underhandedly throw Prince(r.i.p.) under the bus with bringing up the way he passed to defend your sweet little MJ who was not innocent himself!

HOW DARE U SAY SOMETHING SO EVIL & DISRESPECTUFUL LIKE THAT! mad

Oh, let's not pretend that countless Prince fans haven't been disrespectful like that too, looking down at "drug addict" Michael Jackson's demise and his fans who don't want to see the "truth", but when the shoe was on the other foot, found all kinds of excuses when their precious Prince died in a similar fashion, which was very interesting to witness (like the piece of shit Unique, who was so happy to plaster MJ threads with autopsy pictures and shit… little did he know that soon he would be the one grieving). But I feel Free is out of line here, as both didn't use "drugs" to get high (and also both spoke out against drug use), but to take care of a special problem. One did it in the care of a doctor and the other did it on his own though. Sadly the results were the same. Both gone way before their time.

The big problem is that painkillers are needed and non-addictibe alternatives that really work have not been developed. Some people cannot even function because of debilitating pain. It's not about solving issues. Chronic pain is the issue. My late father, who never touched anything stronger than aspirin in his life, had to take morphine and other drugs to deal with pain from cancer during his last year...

I really enjoyed "This Is It" - showed than in his final days he was still as vibrant and talented and was putting together what looked to be an amazing show. I am really glad they filmed the shows backstory - it accentuated what a talent he really was and why his death was such a shock. Like Prince sad

Yeah true, now I’m grateful for those last few sessions filmed though at the time of release, I was feeling snobbish about it and sad I couldn’t see him after all. Was also very sad when prince passed and wrote a song in the first few days about my reaction to it.

Sorry about your dad purplethunder

Yes, I loved the This Is It behind the scenes look. My family and I saw the first viewing at a special theatrical release. It was wonderful being in the theater with Michael fans and being able to bond with fans from all over America and from around the world. A special treat was being able to hear the LIVE reactions of the audience while actually sitting in a theater, watching it in surround sound on a HUGE movie screen.

I really enjoyed "This Is It" - showed than in his final days he was still as vibrant and talented and was putting together what looked to be an amazing show. I am really glad they filmed the shows backstory - it accentuated what a talent he really was and why his death was such a shock. Like Prince sad

Nice! I saw it at a special employee screening - I worked st Sony at the time. It was a HUGE deal putting out that release - all under super tight security. I knew one of the producers and she said it was a challenge putting it all together (some film some hidef tape and various aspect ratios etc) but I thought it was pretty well assembled in the end.

I remember seeing it 3 times at the theatre. First time was the night it premiered, with a group of mj fans, second time was by myself, and third time with my best friend who didn’t want to see it without me
