Yeah, shes very good. Listen to Lionheart.

AFter really enjoying some of her releases in the 80s, I went back to Tower Records ( the old days!)and got the Loinheart CD. I played it a few times but never got into it completely,, I went through a Kate revival the past few years in which i listened to all of her music, and I couldn't stop playing Lionheart. Her singing is so high here it almost sounds like she is on helium, and the lyrics are also hard to comprehend on first listen. But, oh how it grows on you if you give it at chance.

Just get it all, she's a genius, her work stands out.
Of note, the recent remasters present slightly altered versions of her 1985 and 2005 albums. Nothing crucial but you may want to go for the original versions.

Wuthering Heights is objectively one of the very best popular songs of all time.

umm, everything. i guess there's supposed to be some ethereal depth or something. its like she could be a female Seal of sorts or even the new Stevie Nicks (back then) i dunno. a mystic, gypsy muse or something but she lacks the chops and the material IMO. i wanted to like her, but HOL wasn't interesting

HOL was my introduction 2 her in 1987 and man, I absolutely HATED it! Track 4 track. Especially "Under Ice" and "Waking The Witch," BUT, within a few days, I found myself humming things and when I realized WHAT I was humming, I went back and played the songs. When "The Sensual World" dropped, THAT was when I became a devout fan. HOL, though...it terrified me more than it delighted me. I'd never heard a voice or music like that (bein' an R&B head), so naturally, I couldn't/didn't embrace it initially. I feel ya. <3

Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.
