Good song, but no one of his best.

I also like the Michael McDonald version of Too High and the Jose Feliciano version of Golden Lady. I have this Motown compilation of various artists doing their songs in other languages. Stevie has several on it and one is a song in Italian that is not a translation of another song called Se Tu Regazza Mia. That's one of my favorites too. There's a video on Youtube of Stevie performing it on a TV show in Italy. That's not the studio version though. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Good song, but no one of his best. I think it’s a classic with a catchy melody, and easy to play on the piano

Ordinary Pain is wonderful with his 2 part song, one being a ballad of the male side of the story and the second funky part being the female's side of the story.

fun fact: Stevie wanted Chaka Khan to sing the female vocal in the 2nd half of the song, but she had scheduling conflicts.

Such a shame, I don't know her music, but I know what a voice she's got.

On the Motown album I mentioned above, there's an Italian and a Spanish version of this track. Stevie was on SOUL! (Ellis Haizlip's PBS show) and performed a bilingual version. All great choices from an all-time great artist!! It always gets me thinking, like what happened, Stevie?? Why so good in the 70s, then a definite creative decline post Hotter Than July and here are, 15 years since his last album!! 😮 Like, what happened, Stevie??

Thanks, I will. Will we ever see another Stevie Wonder album released? or his 2005's album was the very last?

I feel like he has it in him to just make one more album if not appear on duets

I wish he would put out his unreleased material; rumor has it he wants it all destroyed after he passes... "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

There must be such an amazing music there.

Another wierd thing there. He apparently has all this great unreleased material doing nothing. Why not re-record/ remix it with modern Stevie vocals and bang a brand new album!! A great idea, especially if he is creatively dry, as I guess he is .

yeah,I know it's hard to pick just 10 songs. He's got an asburd amount of great songs.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
No, I hope that doesn't happen, better leave that music alone as it is.

Some of the songs from his later albums are like that already. Such as Cryin' Through The Night on Characters. There's an unreleased version of that recorded in the early 1970s. All I Do from 1980 was originally recorded by Tammi Terrell in the 1960s. Lighting Up The Candles from Jungle Fever is originally from around 1984. Well he's not that old, and sure wasn't back in 2005 when he released his last album, he was only 55.
