This 4 CD set of Adeva’s eponymous debut album brings together the most comprehensive collection of this seminal house – R&B release. Originally released in August 1989, the album went on to sell in excess of 300,000 copies in the UK.

CD 1 features the 10 tracks of the original album plus 7 bonus tracks with the single versions of 5 tracks, Respect, Warning!, I Thank You, Beautiful Love and Treat Me Right. Plus there’s the Club mix of I Thank You and the dub mix of Warning!

CD 2 features 13 tracks of remixes, dub versions plus bonus beats of the singles including Dancin’ Danny D’s remix of Respect along with 5 other mixes of the track. There’s two remixes of Warning!, High On Hope mix and Zanzibar mix. These are accompanied by the I Thank You remixes – Original Club mix, The New Jersey mix, Somehouse Somewhere mix and Paul Simpson’s The Philadelphia mix.

CD 3 includes 5 I Thank You mixes, 2 of which are by the Dancing Divas with their Club mix and Rhythm Mix, Love To Infinity provide 2 mixes, plus there’s remixes of the single Beautiful Love including the Classic Club mix by Frankie Knuckles. It’s b-side Promises also has 3 mixes included.

CD 4 boasts 5 mixes of the 6th single from the album, Treat Me Right followed by 4 rare Smack Productions remixes of Warning! that featured on a US only 12” single. Other mixes include Warning! Capitol mix, the b-sides Love To See You Dancing and Love Is Special.

Remixers featured across this 4 CD set includes Frankie Knuckles, Smack Productions, Dancin’ Danny D, Paul Simpson, Dancing Divas, Love To Infinity, JZJ and Tony Humphries.

This 4 CD collection comes in a capacity wallet, with each CD in a paper wallet featuring related Adeva sleeve images from the period. There is also a 24 page booklet including sleeve notes and a UK Discography. This is housed within an outer sleeve featuring the original cover artwork.

Adeva hails from New Jersey in the USA but found her career taking shape in the UK when, after an indie single release on Easy Street Records, she was then signed by Cooltempo / Chrysalis. This resulted in two albums, Adeva! and Love Or Lust and numerous singles released. In 1997 she released an album New Direction for Distinctive Records but not before collaborating with Frankie Knuckles on two singles and the album, Welcome To The Real World in 1995.

We’re delighted to release this 2CD Expanded Edition of Laura Branigan’s 3rd studio album, “Self Control”, originally released in 1984 on Atlantic Records.

The album was a hit across many European chart territories and was certified Platinum in the U.S. with sales in excess of 1 million copies. The album saw four singles released from it: the title track ‘Self Control’, ‘The Lucky One’, ‘Ti Amo’ and ‘Satisfaction’. ‘Self Control’ was the lead single and was a smash hit across the world. It peaked at # 5 in the UK singles chart and was top 10 in most key international markets.

Disc One features the original “Self Control” album that was released in April 1984. It was recorded in Los Angeles and Munich with production by Jack White and Robbie Buchanan. Renowned musicians featured on the recordings including Harold Faltermeyer (synthesizers), John Robinson (drums), Paul Jackson Jr. (guitar), Nathan East (bass) and Michael Landau (guitar).

Disc Two features all the related bonus material of Laura Branigan from this period. There are four versions of her international hit, ‘Self Control’. With the 12” A side extended version, a U.S. edit version from a 7” release in the States and two remixes of the track dating back to a German re-release of the track in 1992. Those featured are Classic Summer Mix 1992 remixed by Spencer Tobie and 117 BPM Club 1992 that was remixed by Sancho Perez. Her follow up single The Lucky One is featured three times with the single version and two remixes, one by Jack White and then another by John Robie. Other tracks include ‘Satisfaction’, the single version and the special dance mix plus ‘When’, a track written by Branigan and ‘Hot Night’, her contribution to the original soundtrack album of the hit film, Ghostbusters.

This 2CD expanded edition features the original album artwork, extensive sleeve notes and a comprehensive UK Discography and is the most comprehensive collection of this period of her career.

Laura Branigan released seven studio albums for Atlantic Records spanning 1982-1993 enjoying considerable domestic and international success. Her most loved singles were ‘Gloria’ that topped the charts across the globe, followed by ‘Self Control’ that enjoyed similar success in many territories.

Tragically Laura Branigan passed away in August, 2004 from a previously undiagnosed ventricular brain aneurysm.

Average White Band / Anthology 5CD deluxe set

Five CD deluxe package to be released in June

Edsel will issue Anthology in June, a five-CD Average White Band deluxe set that follows their career from the beginning in the early 1970s to their final album for Arista in 1982.

This collection has been curated by AWB, with each disc themed, with the first concentrating on classics, working through Jazz/Funk/Soul/Blues genres and ending up with rarities at the end, such as seven-inch and 12-inch versions and live recordings.

In total, Anthology delivers 73 tracks across the five CDs and comes in ‘mediabook’ packaging with notes from Alan Gorrie and Hamish Stuart.

This deluxe set will be released on 12 June 2020.

Thanks for posting about Kool & The Gang, I have been playing their music all night since encountering this thread. I loved them as a kid and had their greatest hits album, but never really revisited their music in the last decades. Sweet memories and groovy tunes, they sure knew how to write catchy funkpop songs! Their oldschool early funk is fantastic as well. cool

that Ohio Players CD was released a few years ago.I bought it when it came out.This new one must be a reissue.It is an incredible show and I highly recommend it.Recorded in 1977 at the height of their popularity.

A Hot summer night' Was filmed and recorded live on 6th August 1983, at the Pacific amphitheater in Costa Mesa, CA, with an audience of 18, 000 fans, during the second-leg of Donna summer's 1983 'hard for the money' Tour, which supported the recently released 'she works hard for the money' Album.

The set-list includes 'macarthur Park', 'love is in control…', 'bad Girls' Medley, 'on the radio' And 'last dance', as well as performances with special guests musical Youth, her sisters dara and Mary Ellen on an extended showpiece version of 'Woman', as well as closing the show with her eldest daughter Mimi, performing 'state of independence'.

The essay by noted us writer, includes newly conducted interviews with multi-grammy award nominee, singer/songwriter, Bruce sudano, film director Brian Grant, executive producer Len R. Ep and internationally renowned choreographer, dame Arlene Phillips. Restored from the analogue video tapes, this is the concert's debut CD release and therefore the makes it a perfect sequel to 1978's 'live and more'.

I just pre-ordered this smile I never had the VHS copy of this show,so it’s gonna be great to have a fresh DVD copy.Donna’s estate is doing a great job so far! Hopefully,they will release the 1978 ‘Live and More’ show on DVD someday.

Where did you preorder? I don't see it on amazon USA. This is my favorite Donna concert.
