Elvis or Freddie I know it all comes down to personal taste but who do you think was the better singer Elvis Presley or Freddie Mercury and why? I'm just like everybody else I need love.....and water.

Freddie had more vocal agility and range. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

Freddie Mercury is my choice, I think he had the better voice and vocal range.

Freddie, by far. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Elvis had a nicer soulful tone. His voice changed a lot too and could sing more styles. Freddie has more of a range. I like them both. Just Music-No Categories-Enjoy It!

On a purely technical level, Freddie Mercury had a much better voice. Elvis was a better singer than he's given credit for but Freddie was still far above him. But I can only think of one Queen song off the top of my head that I actually like. That being the song "One Year of Love". I can't stand most of their other songs. I am a huge Elvis fan though. Long story short, I prefer Elvis Presley's music but I acknowledge Freddie was the better singer. His music just does nothing for me.

Stop being so obvious. We all could have guess the only song of the entire Queen discography that you like would be" One Year of Love' [Edited 4/25/20 7:17am]

Both are music icons and both had great talent, but for me, Freddie had the better voice. Freddie had a better voice than most popular singers.

I like both of them, love their music and although Freddie's voice might be better sometimes his performance is overblown, at times it gets annoyin to me. Whereas with Elvis his singin it's always in point.

Big Elvis fan but no doubt Freddie had the better voice. I enjoy singing along to both of them and both are on my playlists. I think Elvis had more class. If I had to choose one to see live (obviously I know that's never gonna happen), I'd choose Elvis.

Its a shame really there isnt more diversity in rock n roll singers these days you just dont hear voices like Elvis's anymore nearly all the singers are tennor but there missing that warmness of the barritone range guess thats why it sounds so of its time. I'm just like everybody else I need love.....and water.

Definitely Freddie, plus he’s far more creative than Elvis

Elvis had a much better timbre, was more enjoyable and perhaps more versatile.

Presley scored his first No. 1 single with "Heartbreak Hotel," as well as his first No. 1 album, Elvis Presley. From there he signed a movie contract with Paramount Pictures — all in 1956. Limited education, self-taught abilities with the recording equipment if the time makes it difficult to judge by today's standards.

Any of you have heard Good Time Charlie's Got The Blues? unfortunately it's not an original song of his, but what a beautiful cover he did.

That's the only one right? He did a fooling around version of Blowin In The Wind at home I think in a deep voice, but never released until about ten years ago and a cool version of Don’t think twice it’s alright. Just Music-No Categories-Enjoy It!

Freddie Mercury had a more powerful voice with more range, but Elvis had that smooth, maybe even more commercial tone to his voice

Elvis could do it all. I like Freddie Mercury, but sometimes he was a little OTT for my tastes #SOCIETYDEFINESU

No doubt to me : Elvis set aside the cultural impact and charisma where freddy is nowhere to be compared to elvis, i d say that freddy sang Queen s song (so a mocked hard, opera like and some balldas) while elvis did sing everything (rock, folk, blues, xmas, ballads, gospels, commercials etc) in a superb way you may say freddy had a wider voice but not that he had a nicer one or even better singing abilities mikael
