Lady Gaga fans: would you consider giving ARTPOP a chance?

Given how ARTPOP was a flop in 2014 and many fans did not understand it, I, on the other hand, began to revisit the ARTPOP era and learn what it actually had to offer.

I like the songs "Artpop", "Venus", "G.U.Y", "Swine", "Fashion!", "Donatella" and "ManiCure". In a nostalgic way, they are pleasant dance songs. It's a shame I didn't go to the ArtRave tour - my friends from England saw her at the London 02 Arena and they said she was captivating.

What about you people who are Lady Gaga fans?

ARTPOP wouldn't really be a low point if it were marketed different (and u took a few tracks off) this is a record that was trying to be marketed as Purple Rain when it's more Around the World in a day. (Obviously not comparing the content of these records) If artpop had been released with all the hype and big budgeted roll out, i think it would be seen as an interesting record in her discography.

I'm not a fan, but I like her a lot, and I'm gettin into her music. And coincidentally the last songs I donwloaded on Spotify were songs from this album, a very interesting one. I like Gypsy, Artpop, Aura and Dope and specially Applause and Do What U Want. The latter which I don't understand why it didn't make it into the album.

Do what u want was originally on the album, she took the track off streaming services after the R Kelly Documentary

I couldn’t get into it, but felt maybe it was too ahead of its time. I wouldn’t be surprised if it aged nicely

I think part of the relatively negative reception of the album was due to extremely high and unrealistic expectations for her to be a dominant force in music in the way that the 1980s superstars were. Lady Gaga is talented but never a visionary or a creator of some new type of sound. Not having a killer single also hurt the album. I like Artpop fairly well and preferred it to her first album because not everything on it was designed to be a potential single.

We all know what we know about R. Kelly, but he wrote ARTPOP its only hit -- and they removed it. neutral

Just reminds me of the year JAY Z and Gaga were both jocking Marina Abramovic hard to associate with real art.

Best to keep looking ahead with Gaga. Hell, I'd rather give Joanne another spin.

I remember the instrumentals leaked and when I listened to them I appreciated this album a bit more.

Some of the production is too over-the-top. Everything and the kitchen sink. It's the same problem that plagued Born This Way. The idea that bigger is better but that's not always the case.

I found some of the songs too noisy and chaotic (Swine, Jewls n' Drugs).

I do agree that there was no true potential hit single, except Do What You Want. It was the most commercial at the time but even then the Kelly association was a red flag. Applause is okay but it was not an ideal first single.

What a stupid thing to do, she could have included the Aguilera version.

I gave it another chance and it’s still crap. I will even go as far as saying Madonna kicked her ass to the curb with her newer music

There’s a commercial now with a motaur, half man half motorcycle. I’d argue that Lady Gaga has been overlooked for being groundbreaking and influential regarding motaurs and motaur culture with her Born This Way album cover. She’s so edgy.

Yes she did, Madame X is that great of an album, yet ARTPOP is not the crap you think it is.

What a stupid thing to do, she could have included the Aguilera version.

Or better yet, the solo version, that was sneakily released on some Spanish compilation album.

He didn't write it, though - he only wrote his guest verse.

Gaga's original solo version should have been included instead, IMO.
