This is tough. I remember my mom used to play his 45 Ain't No Sunshine.

My favorite by him is Use Me. I also remember the iconic songs Lovely Day and

Just The Two Of Us duet with Grover Washington.

No he didn't, he died from heart complications aka heart attack. He was 81 so he got a lot of life he lived. Prayers and condolences for his family members and love ones and then his admirers. Favorite song by him was Lovely Night for Dancing from his 1977 album Menagerie. I love dancing so of course that would be a song of mine especially when he sings

"And oh, from sunset to sunrise
No more weakness for the music turns me on
And oh, from the twilight to the blue skies
You know I feel like dancin' all night long"

All of the month of March, I've been listening to that "Lovely Day" cover on the Bodyguard soundtrack (S.O.U.L. S.Y.S.T.E.M. introducing Michelle Visage, produced by Cole & Clivilles). What a wonderful composition.

If anything, his uplifting music is exactly what the whole world needs to remember and listen to again right now.

Watched it last night. He was only turning 70 in it. Can't believe I hadn't seen it. Really enjoyed learning about his career before music and the friends he has kept over the years.

Bill Withers & Kenny Rogers: Ain't No Sunshine, Lean On Me

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton
