Most awarded artists (all time)

Saw this on Twitter:

https://twitter.com/ChartBeyonceNet/status/1238849146028732416?s=20

  1. Michael Jackson — 834 Awards

  2. Beyoncé — 685 Awards

  3. Whitney Houston — 657 Awards

Not surprised. I would argue the top black entertainers of all time are Michael and Whitney and the top 80s artists are those two plus Prince and Madonna.

I'm not really an MJ fan but it's still very sad that he, Whitney and Prince are no longer here. How wonderful it would be if they were still around making music and performing live. And a shame the only time Whitney was ever on stage with Prince was when she was not in a good way personally. Still the photo of them hugging warms my heart. He looks so little next to her. sad

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

whitney houston was a great singer not a great entertainer...

jackie wilson
josephine baker
nicolas brothers

all before my time and i havent been exposed to much of their performances, but from what little i have heard and seen of them, they are deserving as well...also Hazel Scott ... i know Sammy Davis Jr is legendary, but i was NEVER a fan...he was like a cartoon character to me...i was too young to appreciate his versatility as an entertainer

I guess it's how one defines an entertainer. My definition doesn't revolve around dancing on stage. Maybe I should have said celebrity OR star instead of entertainer.

Agreed. Amazing vocalist, but not a great entertainer. Too frigid. Prince, Tina Turner, Michael Jackson, Diana Ross...GREAT entertainers! <3

Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

Sammy could sing, act, dance, play a few instruments, and do gun tricks too.
