Anyone checked it out yet? If so, thoughts?

great album...jay electronica IMO is one of the best MCs to ever do it, but had no official lps up to this point...and JayZ, who features on almost every song, seems to be in rare 2001 form again...solid productions...no corny trap beats and clownish lyrics...grown man rap...esoteric and metaphysical lyrical content from Jay Electronica and Shawn Carter

At least a few of these tracks had been released before. And given the length of time it took for JayElec to put out an album, I'd hoped I'd hear more of him on it.

i know right?..it seems like its showcasing JayZ as much if not more, at times... we've been waiting over 10 years for his debut album...with that said, its still much better than anything else happening in hiphop right now and recently

I can't disagree because honestly Jay-Z was featured more in the ITunes song samples more than JayElec, and the songs that I hadn't heard before didn't appeal to me. No serious knock on Jay-Z, but if I want to hear his albums, I'll buy them.

He should have come out of the gate with a stronger effort focused more on him. It's almost as if he didn't have faith in the audiences waiting on the album.

A beautiful album/EP - Jay Elec is amazing and I love Hov's features throughout. Thinking person's hip hop. There are also two Prince mentions thorughout so we all coming from the same source!

Yeah, I peeped the one about Sometimes It Snows In April as his all-time favorite Prince joint. Like Twitter said, "Jay Elect be on that next shit".

Oh, I agree. It's a great release overall. Im reading some ppl are kind of put off but shrug. This is good shit. I like how they used Rihannas Higher for Flux Capacitor (my shit).
