Most calling it a crass money grab. And some of the songs aren't even live vocals, they're a mix of live and studio recordings. Plus the live band on stage are people that never performed with her live. So sad considering Whitney was someone who loved singing LIVE (even if her voice wasn't always in shape). I can see why Prince called holograms demonic. I hope his estate takes note and never does anything like this. Both Dionne and Clive are against it. I don't understand why they can't stop it.

I can't speak for anyone else, but to me holograms are just morbid. I don't know what else to call watching a dead person performing as though they were alive, when everyone knows they're actually dead! It's so creepy!

In the 1990s & early 2000s there were several Elvis Presley tours called Elvis: The Concert. It wasn't a hologram, but video footage of Elvis on a screen with his original 1970s band & background singers (including Cissy Houston) that were still living, playing live behind his isolated vocals. Since they went on for several years, I guess they were a success as a moneymaker. The tours still go on today, but I don't think it's the original band/singers. I know one was with an orchestra.

I was at the Prince live on the big screen concert at the Target Center. I actually liked the show. And a couple songs were enhanced by having the horns there. But it was video footage of Prince which is totally different. Whitney had some great live shows. One of my favorites was the Welcome Home Heros HBO concert for returning gulf War soldiers. Put out an HD version of that and I'd buy it in a heartbeat. But this thing is just sad. Especially knowing some of the vocals aren't from live performances. Outside of the Super Bowl and maybe some early TV appearances Whitney always sang live. To go to a live show and hear studio vocals is just wrong on so many levels.

Apparently the Roy Orbison one was pretty good. I could see having an Elvis one in Vegas though I'd never spend money to see it. I'm sorry but anyone who performed live with a band and no lip syncing should NOT ever be a hologram. Prince was right when he called it demonic. Clive Davis ripped the two Whitney docs that came out and said a real bio-pic should be done. I wish there was something he could do to stop this thing from ever coming to the United States. If for no other reason than I don't think it will be popular and will just be an embarrassment for the estate.

No, no AND NO!! I hate the entire concept. If they want to do a hologram on say an awards show for one song, I wouldn't be opposed, but a concert using a hologram is just plain wrong. I will never attend a show that does this.

The "MJ" hologram at the Billboard Awards (I think) was horrendous. It was a look-alike who neither looked nor moved like Michael Jackson. You can get that from any random impersonator. I saw a video of the Cirque show's hologram and it looked similar to me, just someone who can't replicate MJ's moves.

I'm not against it from a moral perspective, but so far, the technology isn't up to snuff for me. Or, if it is, its not being used correctly.

I agree.It's WRONG and I'm surprised that some fans showed up for something like this.Shame on her estate (or whoever put this together).They must really be hard up for cash,smh.
