I could never get into her. Too many runs. Probably why I've always been a bigger fan of Barbra and Whitney and not singers like Mariah and Xtina. I like singers with powerful voices who didn't go crazy with runs all over the place.

So was Tina Turner desperate too? This is from her final tour in 2009 when she was around 70

"...................Anna MAE!!!!"- The Ghost of Ike Turner

ICONIC! If someone chooses 2 wear what they wear, it's THEIR personal choice. If u.r. not the one wearin' it, the u should have nuthin' 2 say about it. Simple. Tina looks aMAZING! <3

Tina looks amazing. She is a Sagittarius. The fire signs: Aries, Leo and Sagittarians take care of themselves, age slowly, are sexy and passionate. Mariah -Aries, Madonna -Leo, Diana Ross -Aries, J Lo -Leo, to name a few fire sign female singers.

The OP post is sexist and short-sighted which is surprising since it's a female. Mariah, or any person, can dress how they damn well want to. Lane Bryant may think a 50 year old woman has to dress just one way, but clearly women can think for themselves outside of a patriarchal traditional role.

I can't understand why men (or anyone since the OP is female) are so concerned about controlling a woman's body, whether it's her womb, or breasts or what she adorns it with. Men need to stay in their own fucking lane and worry about their own beer guts or that weird dry patch on their ankle than Mariah fucking Carey wearing a onesie.

Mariah has never been ashamed of her body, whether she is carrying a few extra pounds (she's certainly never been obese in this photo) or being dangerously thin (where were the threads on that???). No one's making anyone look at her or give a shit about what she wears.

If the OP wants to dress "like a 50 year old," by all means - go for it. I'm 51, a male and the last thing I'm gonna do is tell a woman what she should or shouldn't do with her body. Hell, I'll be 52 this month and one of my favorite things to wear is my hot pink short sleeve hoodie with black trim. Don't like it? Fuck off.

Of course, the examples of Janet, J-Lo, Madonna (62), etc are given and valid. Those aren't women trying to do anything but what the fuck they want. Keep the traditionalism to yourself. Tradition is just peer pressure from dead people.

I'd rate this comment a 10 out of 10,really couldn't have said it better.

Keep talking about the signs. It makes this thread, that should have died a long time ago, a little more interesting. lol It is true about the fire signs, especially when it comes to Aries women and probably men.

Damn straight!

She has had kids and issues with her weight etc. Not everyone is able to retain their 20 or 30 something frames.

Men need to realized that if they want something better in their fantasy world then go look at some porn lol

Society puts a LOT of expectation on women and their bodies. If folks are happy with the way they are then let them be.

umm....JLo has kids and is even older than Mariah..she pulls off the look that Mariah is trying to "steal"! #epicfail

Well if it’s going to be that way, j lo and tommy motolla stole a sample from Mariah and even stole her singer and rapper style song with I’m real and it’s remix. Should have been called who’s real! lol

Sorry...this look to me screams "desperate"! Her music isn't selling anymore, her concerts don't drawn large crowds, her fan base is now in their 40s and 50s and isn't really following her career. So why not throw on a skimpy outfit (actually, that's JLo's outfit) and show off my sagging breast implants and lip sync to a backing vocal track?

Mariah need to reinvent herself, change up EVERYTHING, get back to what she is known for...her voice. Forget the caberet stage shows, 1000 back up dancers, rappers. Start with her and a pianist or a guitarist and go back to the basics. Strip down her catalogue and add some new songs into that format and see where it goes.

I think she was/is a very talented songwriter and her ego became larger than her career and her blunders on live tv have done her no favors.

Clearly she is hanging on to the past and trying to recreate magic of music to an audience than doen't have the time of day for her. Her weight and how she dresses is her business, we all have an opinion.

I feel like all those other singers can't do her subdued breathy restrained falsetto thing she does in a lot of her R&B records, though. I like that more than straight bombast... but she runs the gamut.

I saw one of her videos of BET Soul a few days ago I Can't Let Go and it brought back

memories. She was a true songbird back then and incredibly beautiful. I don't care how she

dresses but this photo is not very flattering. What I want to know is how the fuck this thread

turned from offering critique on her dress game to a borderline man bashing thread. lol

Don't get how this is perceived as a sexist thread. This thread just seems to be a replay of

the Lizzo thread.

Right, so people who were in their mid-teens when that dropped (and it was huge, it was everywhere) would be in their early 30s...

ummm... sure.... Go back 30 years when her 1st (best album) dropped and you were shitting your diapers...that group is in the late 40s to early to mid 50s... the 90s she was untouchable...

Nothing wrong with dressing beautifully at any age. Cher dresses beautiful and works with what she's got. Mariah Carey,on the other hand, dresses and behaves like a juvenile little kid. Leotards are not sexy - they are cringy. Mariah Carey was never my cup of tea.

But back to the age thing - women can still dress however they like, as long as it's not too revealing.

Mae West was in her 80s and she still dressed beautifully. Add the fact she didn't dress provocatively but used her talent and brains to be sexy. Watch a movie or two from the 1930s-1950s and you'll see true sexiness for yourself.

uuhmmmm okay? You seemed perplexed as to the veracity or possibility of her fanbase hitting early 30s so I provided the mathematical justification. I don't seem how this retort of yours reacts or relates to anything... Truthfully her fanbase skews to all ages, initial reasons or first albums why are pretty irrelevant, fans dig into the entire catalogue, we're just talking entry-points.... the 90s were great, yes, I experienced them as well...
