You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

The Sylvers I
The Sylvers II
The Sylvers III

amazing songwriting, arranging, production and bass playing by a very young Leon Sylvers III, and beautifully complex multi-part hatmonies from his brothers and sisters, featuring Edmund, Ricky and Charmaine handling most of the lead vocals, with other siblings James & Olympia, and Leon on vocals as well... this was before their string of crossover pop hits like "High School Dance" and "Boogie Fever"...their first 3 albums are overlooked and hard to find in stores and on streaming services, but still sound great to this day

Ani Difranco: Reveling / Reckoning -double album on Youtube.

I have no idea where my original CDx2 copy is. I might have borrowed it to someone.

Some great songs on this one anyway! Prince-ish horn arrangements on so many songs. Think of Joni Mitchell meets "The Vault... Old Friends 4 Sale".

I adore the Ani Difranco album, my favorite of hers. If the grammys were on merit, it should have won best album the year it was released.

Alpha, I think it's time to ask you a question: are you a Toy soldier? A Church of Letoya convert? It's okay, you can say it.
