I heard this song on XM's Garage Rock station about two years ago but didn't catch the name. For some reason I kept thinking it had "Rockets" in the title, which is why I could never find it.

Then it came on again this morning, while I was on a phone call. I had the radio on mute but when I saw the title of the song, I said, "I bet that's the one good Pearl Jam song!" I later found it on Youtube and - it is the one good Pearl Jam song!

No, I haven't. And I have to say - unless they have other songs like "Supersonic", where Vedder actually sings in a manner that doesn't make you think the world sucks beyond repair, they wouldn't be my cup of tea.

But if they DO have real rock songs, like "Supersonic"? I'm all for it!

I've always loved this band and in a live show they can hold their own. People tend to either love them or hate them.

i've always disliked pearl jam and haven't been able to sit through a single song
of them voluntarily.

until "dance of the clairvoyants" though. i've listened to that one at least 57 or
so times since it came out a few weeks ago. don't know what it is. just love it.

That song's not bad but the difference in Vedder's singing is gigantic. In "Supersonic" he actually sings like a rock singer - and he's got a great rock voice!

But in "Spin the Black Circle" he sings in his traditional growl, and I just do not care for that voice.

"Supersonic" reminds me a lot of Prince's "Marz". That's probably why I like it so much, LOL. Maybe I'll work up a mash-up of both songs to play at an open mic sometime soon. That might rock.

Loathe Pearl Scam. Jeremy is pretty damn good.

Oddly, they did better with Temple of the Dog. Hunger Strike is a masterwork.
