Some Timbuck 3 So, I'm sure some people might be thinking, Timbuck 3? That's that one hit wonder band from the 80's, right ? And, you would be correct. TB3 were a OHW band, but they also experienced(for a good 3 or 4 years)some pretty major success(money wise) and popularity. Their one major hit, The Future's So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades, was a decent alternative pop, country jam(I'm not good a labeling shit). It was their only major hit, but i don't think it was their best song. It might have been their catchiest song. But not their best and most creative one.
Timbuk 3 were from Wisconsin(but became big in Texas), and were originally comprised of the married couple Pat and Barbara MacDonald. Their most successful period was from around the mid 1980's to the early 1990's. And they broke up in the mid 1990's. As far as their sound, i would categorize it as country pop folk, alternative rock. Also, i think what stood out with the band was the guitar playing. The guitarist(Pat) had a nice picking style. And he also could play a pretty mean harmonica. And Barbara could play nice as well.
Anyways, i think there's room in the world for all kinds of music. Not all of it has to be super funky, or super complex or have super profound lyrics. For me, sometimes I'll just take the feeling that a song can give.
