Isn't she in her late 20s or early 30s? No one can tell them anything. They know it all. They are always right. Now, people are coming down on Jillian Micheals for asking why are we celebrating Lizzo's body? I wouldn't be surprised if Lizzo has told her physicians they don't have the right to tell her all of that extra weight is bad for her and puts her at higher risk (especially as a black woman) for a lot of diseases. As a person who has battled weight all of my life, it's easier to lie and claim you're happy with being obese than to put the work in to perhaps move yourself out of the way of certain risks that go along with obesity. And that's fine if she wants to stay obese. But, no one wants to hear her whinning about diagnosed obesity related diseases down the line.

And now we see why she's taking a break from Twitter, with comments like RJ's.

good...she needs to fall back and reflect on her life and her actions...and she needs to heed the advise of people who are telling her to clean up her act... she's perpetuating stereotypes that black female entertainers have to be sexualized to be prominent or successful...shes been performing in lingerie, and bra and panties and such, since she started becoming a thing...if she dressed like MC Lyte, or Queen Latifah did when they performed, she'd be anonymous ... but a black woman half naked, and twerking and shaking, and selling sex, is what the powerbrokers in entertainment continue to shove down our collective consciousness... its demeaning and disrespctful to black women and black culture in general...and the women who willingly participate in this, need to know that and react accordingly...

Beyonce

Cardi B

Nikki M

Rihanna

............Just to name a few.

But ya'll ok with them, but not Lizzo because she is heavy set.....

again...Cat Glover and Sheila E and Mayte were all DANCERS onstage dancing and performing, as is routine for dancers during a concert where Prince music is being played for Prince fans to dance to... NOT COURTSIDE, DURING A TIMEOUT AT AN NBA GAME WITH THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN IN ATTENDANCE, AND MILLIONS MORE YOUNG CHILDREN WATCHING AROUND THE WORLD ON TV..

why is that so hard to understand for some people?

wrong place, wrong time...and i think SHE even knows that, now.

no...if Cardi B, Beyonce, Meagan Thee Stallion or Ciara did it, it would have been just as foul and inappropriate... and they would have been called out with just as much vigor...

Welcome generation of twenty/thirty something and old farts stomping around like someone stole their bicycles. confused

A lot of people are just pissed, about everthing. The glass isn't half full or half empty its bone dry. To listen to many of these people, its someone else fault they aren't living the life they think they deserve. So these people spend a great deal of their time with one hand on their keyboards and one hand down their trousers doing God knows what. :-

Yet they are miserable, oh well. Sister girl sould carry on , those folks will still be on Twitter shitting on everything and everyone because their own lives are a shitty mess.

none of them have done that at an NBA game, and a couple of them (Beyonce, Ciara) are regulars at sporting events...so when have either done anything inappropriate at a professional sporting event?...so there of course is no need to call them out... of course if Beyonce twerked her naked ass at a Knicks or Nets game she would be clowned by the media nationwide...

Exactly. Revealing her exposed backside to an arena full of people who did not pay to see it was tasteless and immature. It does not matter how much she weighs.

No dispute there, she is indeed "heavy set" and if people called it out, then so be it, but the truth is, they were only speaking the truth, and calling it as they saw it! And to put it bluntly, Lizzo's ass was not attractive to look at, it was big, flat, and shapeless, not exactly something many are attracted to and enjoy looking at, and you can't blame them if they feel that way, they're allowed to you know! So if some probably wouldn't have said it aloud, you can bet that most certainly thought it! Nevertheless, it was a tacky, inappropriate thing for her to do, because kids were in attendance as well, but I guess 15 minutes of fame was more important to Lizzo than dignity, self respect, and being respectful to others!

What does that have to do with anything? I didn't like when Prince did it either, and thought that it was just as tacky, tasteless, and inappropriate then, as well......and Prince's ass was damn near perfection, and attractive to look at, at least to me! wink

Beyoncé was groomed by her father to be an artist. She doesn't resort to those kind of tactics because she knows better. Her team taught her how to think about the long game.

Lizzo, Cardi B. and so many others are just winging it. In a music business that is more unpredictable now than it ever was, they will do whatever to keep attention on them. Nicki Minaj was like them but she's turned around too little too late.

Yes, there is controversy over Lizzo's size coupled with her antics. She should be careful not to let her actions override her music. She's still young, so she still has a bit of stupid in her. Either she'll wisen up or fade out. Who knows?

It may have been stupid, but the reason she is being called out is because she is heavy set.

"Body positivity" is controversial. With so many Americans being overweight, there are a lot of people who think it sends the wrong message and that size is not something to be proud of.

It conflicts with being an identity issue: she's a big girl so other big girls see her and see themselves in her and live vicariously through her because she is doing stuff despite her size.

Others see it as breeding contentment with being overweight and attributing that to promoting unhealthy lifestyles. Multipule billions of dollars are spent yearly on health and weight related products, so of course there is going to be concern coming from the opposite side as well.

I don't think its the only reason she's being called out but I believe it does play a factor in it.

At least Prince was actually performing when he did what he did.

Never seen him pull his ass out for the public to see at one of the countless basketball games he attended.

Free choice. If she wants to be lazy and not put in the time and work to take better care of herself, that's her problem. Just have some damn class and common sense when you're out in public.

....and SMH at these orgers who are comparing her actions to Prince - really???? I don't remember Prince putting on a minstrel show at a basketball game, which is what Lizzo did.
