Huey Lewis Hearing Loss & End of Singing Career Suffering from a disease that causes debilitating hearing loss, Grammy-winner Huey Lewis says he is unable to sing or perform, and that his upcoming album, "Weather," might be his last, in an interview with John Blackstone for "CBS Sunday Morning" to be broadcast January 26. I read earlier today. So sad. We never know what is waiting around the corner. A reminder to live now and be thankful.

I remember this story quite a while back. It's odd that CBS is picking up on it just now, or re-reporting it. There was an article in Feb 2019 about it all. I seem to remember an interview with him, too. It was likely on CBS Sunday Morning. There was a brief reprieve from it all later in 2019. I suppose this new reporting is the final nail in the coffin. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Its been picked up because the album is set to come out, great music on it, but absolutely no radio play because radio and media sucks and is run by children. But also its been picked up because its gotten a lot worse, Huey was fighting it hoping it would return but its not, hes even admitted to wanting to kill himself a few times. People always think of SIGHT being the worst to lose, but it seems that hearing and also senses like smell and taste when lost lead to deeply depressive suicidal thoughts. I am so mad I missed a chance to see him in concert while my whole family went, about six or so years ago.

He explained what music sounds like now. The segment is worth watching. CBS Morning on Sundays is often quite good.

new music video for Her Love Is Killin' Me You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

This thread motivated me to get a hearing test, cause I now hear musical notes 2 semitones higher than what it actually is, and hope it’s fixable

Sad to hear about Huey. They killed it in the early 80's Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

The new album even though only seven songs because of Huey's hearing issues, the album is pure perfection all the way. If his hearing contiues to worsen this is the last record for sure.
