Greatest Canadian Album of All Time

In honour of the 25th anniversary of Jagged Little Pill, which I personally think is the best, what do you think is the best Canadian album of all time?

Some other suggestions:

Harvest, Neil Young

Blue, Joni Mitchell
After the Gold Rush, Neil Young

Music From Big Pink, The Band

Fully Completely, The Tragically Hip
The Band, The Band

Funeral, Arcade Fire

Moving Pictures, Rush

American Woman, The Guess Who

Songs of Leonard Cohen, Leonard Cohen

Reckless, Bryan Adams

Five Days in July, Blue Rodeo

Twice Removed, Sloan

Up To Here, The Tragically Hip
Gordon, Barenaked Ladies

Road Apples, The Tragically Hip

Fumbling Towards Ecstacy, Sarah McLachlan
You Were Here, Sarah Harmer

Gord's Gold, Gordon Lightfoot

Rust Never Sleeps, Neil Young and Crazy Horse

Day For Night, The Tragically Hip

Acadie, Daniel Lanois

Whale Music, Rheostatics

Court and Spark, Joni Mitchell

2112, Rush

Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere, Neil Young and Crazy Horse

Come On Over by Shania Twain. There's no contest as far as I'm concerned.

Given that this is a Prince site I half expected you to put Vanity on your list. I'm relieved you didn't though.

Cheri (1982)

The original, self-titled album, not the rerecorded, resequenced US version retitled 'Murphy's Law'.

lol

I was going to put Honourable Mentions for both Shania and Avril. love

As much as I liked Vanity, including her album would have ruined the credibility of the list.

We Don't Want Ceta by the Christian Union. But I don't think that album will ever be made.

Shania deserves more than a honourable mention. She deserves a pedestal!

Esthero - Wicked Lil Girls is a fab Canadian album. I’d also suggest Whoa.. Nelly! & Drag by k.d. Lang. Also Kaytranada’s 99.9 and the third Badbadnotgood album. Of all time I’d say Blue.

.

Drag is more provocative, plus I love the theme and that Craig Street production. Her 90s albums are all stellar, similar to Joni its hard to really pick the "best". Her version of Theme from The Valley Of The Dolls is one of my fave k.d. vocal performances, heartbreaking.

Sawyer is a beast of a track ... love Limelight to. Witch Hunt is my fave though ... love anything creepy music wise and the opening of that track gives me the chills!

Agreed on Witch Hunt!

I was having a discussion the other day on which song best highlited Neil Peart's chops, I think Sawyer is the one. He gave a monster performance with it.

So many to choose from, but Sawyer probably takes it. I saw the Foos try and cover Sawyer a little while back ... Taylor Hawkins is no slouch on the drums, but even he couldn't get near to what Peart does. He's gotta be top five all time, no doubt.
