That might be true for singers who just stand there and sing and couldn't dance to save their lives. It's a difference for visual artists, who have released iconic dance videos. That is part of the show, part of the entertainment, part of why people pay to see these shows. The older one gets, the harder dancing and singing simultaniously gets. So don't be an ass and do not brush everyone over the same comb. It is no rip off if a dance artist enhances their live vocals with backup tracks. No one wants to hear an out of breath singer/dancer.

And since she was performing on a festival, no everyone was there to see her. So Black Eyed Peas fans or 50 Cent fans walking out after they've seen their artist means shit, other that they have no taste and don't deserve better anyway.

In this day and age, I know damn well nobody was walking out of a Janet show because she was lip syncing. EVERY POP STAR lip-syncs. ALL OF THEM. Yes, even the ones that you think don't. They do. How much of a show is lip-synced is what varies. The more intricate the dancing; the more lip-syncing.

There is no pleasing people these days. They want a big ass show with all of the fixings; they want Janet to sing like Patti Labelle and dance like Chris Brown, and only want to pay $10 for the tickets.

I saw JANET years and years ago at Radio City in NYC and honestly I was not there and people were not there and caring about her singing, they were there for the SHOW the spectacle and thats really it. People going to a Britney Spears concert what is the first thing they say, "can she still dance" or " wow she looks hot" etc....If that is what your BASE is looking for your singing is non existent, same goes for Madonna but then again there is about to be a riot with her cancelling every other show, this tour is basically finished her off huge mistake for her to even try and tour. HOWEVER where this whole lip syncing thing and backing tracks are NOT getting a pass is in the ROCK genre, there is a war going on that really radio personality EDDIE TRUNK exposed and it really came from you tube videos from fans who happened to be at a Paul Stanley show, but he at the time wasnt lip syncing he just sounded like shit, what happened after was KISS touring and there being tons of lip syncing going on, this started a war with other older bands like Motley crue which came clean and said at times some "tracks" were used to fill the sound in. For me I dont do the HUGE acts anymore because I am not paying $100 and up to sit a mile away from the stage and then even think I am buying merch for a show I couldnt even see. I stick with indie artists playing smaller gigs at places in NYC like City Winery and The Iridium because the place is controlled, I can see everything no matter where I am, I am not dealing with rapid insane fans, and at these gigs no one fakes it.

Janet on some of her songs sounds just like MJ. Jimmy Jam even said Janet intentionally wouldn't record some songs because she felt she sounded too much like her brothers.
