hmm, i've listened to it twice now. it's got some beautiful melodies and there are
some very nice production flourishes etc.

but as a whole, it feels kind of meandering and boring, just like "colors".

the last two albums were in no way more than the sum of their parts, which all of
his previous albums were, for me.

it's about time beck lets loose and goes full out crazy again on an album. nod

but, as always with beck, i'm sure repeated listens will reveal more beauty and
interest.

I kinda dig it. I think he just discovered morose Beck = Grammys, sales or maybe that's just where he's at in his life. The production sorta sells it. Too many slow songs towards the end but it didn't make me want to throw my device out the window like the very first song on Colors 😂. Not sure of it's lasting appeal but on 1 of these uneventful days 😉 it's decent 😃.
