Seems they're putting Whitney on heavy rotation here. I wonder if it's connected to the tour opening in Mexico for a couple of weeks. Time keeps on slipping into the future...

[Edited 9/25/19 18:40pm] Funny you bring up her live performances… I was just watching a 2014 "Where Are They Now" Oprah interview with Whitney's brother Gary Houston's wife Pat. They were talking about having to put the CD/DVD of her live performances together in meetings with Clive, saying it wasn't easy as they were used to Whitney being there. Oprah has no problem plugging any product but as the TV said the words “CD/DVD” I realized that entertainment has been evolving towards the live tour and live show and merchandise EVEN FOR LIVING ARTISTS. So… perhaps the estate got thinking about bringing out something currently in demand as supported by market pressure.

This is kinda related: You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I thought that this kind of thing was tacky when I saw it displayed at Rick Deckard's Las Vegas hideout in Blade Runner 2049 (the malfunctioning holograms of Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra) and also shown in Dune: House Corrino (the wedding of Rhombur Vernius and his bride Tessia is accompined by holograms of his murdered parents), but now it's really going to happen? If this was to be of the Gorillaz, I wouldn't mind, but for me this is too much and quite fake. It sounds like the idol singer nonsense in Japan, only made real.
