Just heard that on the news this evening. But, he had a full and interesting life. You never really heard too much about him because he remained so private. Weren't they still married but estranged? That's how it's been said in the news. Either way, 28 is a long time for a rock star and a model (such a damn stereotype, ain't it? lol). If she are still married, technically, then she gets everything, unless he had a will and laid out those things.

Lol, they were amicably separated for over a year and still in each other lives from the People article. She made a lot of money on her own too. She was one of the first super models. I was in an atypical art world fashion show in the 80's. She was a model and just amazing looking. Also got to see Iman up close in the dressing room. Stunning people. Basquait was there too, but I already knew him. He lived across the street from where I worked and would come in a lot.

Anyway, Ocasek was a stand alone kind of artist, and everyone was happy when they got together. She had taste.

I wasn't attracted to all of their music, but what was on the radio was great stuff. Just weird enough to stand out against typical pop, yet could still settle into the top 10.

Interesting piece on the mystery of Ric Ocasek's actual age.

He and the Cars were on the cutting edge of the 70's and helped shape the sound of the 80's. He struck me as an amiable guy. He'll live on through his music. RIP
