There were a few good songs on that "Illumination" album. But, I never understood why EW&F needed to feature rappers on the album??? disbelief

only 2 songs have rappers on them Lovely People (with Will.I.Am) This Is How I Feel (with Big Boi) ...i love hip hop, but when EWF used it, they would always feature rappers that were either past their prime or never that good to begin with

Two songs too many. lol I know often times veteran acts do these things thinking it's going to make them relevant for whatever decade they are currently in. But, for artists who have been around since the 60s, 70 or even 80s and are still actively recording, I don't quite understand the need to prove their

relevancy.

When this album came out,Philip said in an interview that Santana’s ‘Supernatural’ was their inspiration and motivation for doing an album like this.I guess they had gotten tired of putting out albums that don’t make a big splash with the mainstream. In a way,I can understand that.

Haven't played that album in awhile, but I remember liking it alot when it came out. Some of those collaborations actually worked. My favorite track is "This Is How I Feel" featuring that lady from Destiny's Child and another singer....lol...my brain is tired right now, can't recall their names, lol.

"Show Me The Way" (prod by Raphael Saadiq) "Pure Gold" (prod by jimmyjam & terry lewis) "Love Together" (bonus song) "Work It Out" "To You" ft. Brian McKnight (sounds like After The Love Is Gone, near the end of the song) "Lovely People" "Liberation" (jazz instrumental) ...those are the best songs on Illumination...espaecially "Love Together" which should have been released as a single...

I would replace Work It Out with the Jam & Lewis produced Love' s Dance. I like the interlude

that comes before it too.

Man I love the full version of Wiggle the interlude from The Promise album.

I always said damn it was too short on The Promise. Maurice be getting it on the Kalimba.

I must have played it 6 or 7 times back to back. Some of these songs on Manifestation sounds

like some songs he played around with after he revealed he had Parkinson's.

I'm feeling Laid Back Aphrodisiac too.

Earth Wind & Fire is responsible for some of the greatest album covers of all time, but maybe to keep the focus on their legendary and iconic leader for his posthumous solo release, his people wanted to keep it simple and show him in his full vibrant glory without any distracting iconography. [Edited 7/17/19 8:44am]

the cover to the 1st Maurice White album was also pretty simple, probably intentional to indicate that he's making his own thing now apart from the group. however, that cover was simple, yet lighyears better than the new one. this just seems rushed and made in Microsoft Word in less than 30 seconds, using the next best Windows fonts no matter how ugly they might be. and using two differnt fonts for just three words? urghh... also the placement, put "WHITE" on the top right it would be already more balanced and harmonic.
okay, I know I'm bitching but it's just amateurish, and Maurices legacy deserved better. but whatever, the music is damn fine and that's the most important thing

Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!
