Great version of the song that is a bit too schmaltzy for me in the original. There are multiple versions of Sly's version, on youtube I found this one https://www.youtube.com/w...HTX6zb9iGM , but there's yet another version on the demo of Fresh that was mistakenly used during a remaster (there are two quite different versions of the album available out there). https://www.youtube.com/w...mp;t=1685s . And to think that he only did this song as a joke, because there were rumours he was dating Doris Day (he was friends with her son). This version is from the Riot sessions (early 1970), and was recorded for a Little Sister album

Ah.. I didn't know (or forgot) that it was also envisioned for the Little Sister album that never materialized. Have to ask the twins what other recordings they know about Paisley Park is in your heart - Love Is Here!

sly was a major genius of modern music, never gets the credit he deserves, maybe if he'd died at 27 he would have.

Too bad Sly didn't finish that Little Sister album... "Anna Stesia come to me, talk to me, ravish me

Yeah, Sly was at his peak, would've been special.

Sly was a brilliant musician for sure. I think Sly and the Family Stones are remembered for burning , pissing away a music career. Back in the day people moved on to the other talented artist who were creating music. Next. (IMHO)

TD3, sounds like you are trolling. It's definitely not how I remember Sly Stone or the Family Stone. It's not how most people I know remember them. Although it is partly true that part of Sly's legacy is that drugs can have a very negative effect on a persons ability to function. But that part is almost completely overshadowed by the music. . Similarly, Larry Grahams religious believes and his 80's albums are completely overshadowed by his great 70's albums. That may be different in the US, where he seems to be mostly remembered for One In A Million You, a song that didn't chart at all here in Europe. Paisley Park is in your heart - Love Is Here!
