One is almost the antithesis of the other. It's tough though, because I wasn't a huge fan of either; but I didn't hate them.

I like the hook in "Freedom", whereas the visuals of "Freedom '90" are more appealing to me. I suppose I'd take both. They each have their own appeal.

You wanna battle, put "Fastlove" against "Fantasy".

Freedom is awesome — a non-stop hook machine — but the lyric and the dark groove of Freedom ‘90 gives it an edge in my opinion. You can’t beat a line like “When I knew which side my bread was buttered, I took the knife as well.” That whole album is full of great moments like that

Its interesting that you cant decide between fastlove and fantasy for me your putting the best song he ever recorded against the worst

MotownSubdivis ion	Both. They both satisfy me depending on my mood. I actually cited "Freedom" as my favorite song a few years ago when I took a History of Rock class in college. The sunny music and upbeat singing juxtaposed with the message of FWB greatly intrigued me. [Edited 7/6/19 1:38am]

They're both very good, very different songs, as others have stated above. For me, Freedom '90 wins by a nose, because I have a special bias toward it; it was one of my favourite songs when I was just a kid and didn't even understand the significance of the lyrics.

TheFman	Very different beasts yet hard to separate. Freedom '90 has surely aged better than Wham's Freedom, but when they came out, i was more taken by the original one. If I had to take one of them to a deserted island, it would be Wham's version though, always.

'Freedom '90' is probably the better cut from a musical perspective, but the lyrics are annoying. I haven't really been able to enjoy the song since I was 14 or 15 (i.e., since 1991) because it's too much of a self-pity song.

So, I'll go with Wham!'s punchy, Motown-esque "Freedom". Very unpretentious.

A far cry from the IG models of today.

Granted, most of the models from then aren't as thick as I prefer a woman to be but they were still stunning to look at. Above all else, they were natural.
