Do you like creating playlists of random songs?

Have you ever been really proud of yourself after sequencing a playlist of songs you just discovered recently? One of my favorite hobbies.

This playlist is a mix of my favorite recently discovered songs, songs that I have loved for a long time and songs I’m rediscovering. Thought they would go nicely together

My playlist for the week: KIDS2FREE
1. Kids by MGMT
Can’t believe I’m just discovering these folks. Lovely song
2. D.A.N.C.E by Justice
Nice poppy dance track written in tribute of Michael Jackson. Interesting to note it uses the same radio sound effect sample that Prince used in “Clouds”
3. I Gotta Feeling by The Black Eyed Peas
I loved the song and other hits when it came out. Just rediscovering this one.
4. Raw Evolution by Warbly Jets
Sweet guitar poppy hook. I like these kind of rock songs that has a strong enough hook that it goes almost throughout the song.
5. One Minute by XXXTENTACION
This is so raw. RIP.
6. 8 by Billie Eilish
From that hard emo rock/rap, we go into this song that has a simple but effective colorful melody. Mixes somewhat happy and sad feeings.
7. Trapped In My Mind by Kid Cudi
I love Kid Cudi. This is a deep song about being stuck in one place and obviously feeling trapped
8. FREE URSELF by Prince
I’m most proud about this segue. Because it just makes sense. And after first listening to “Kids” by MGMT, it made me think about this song because it’s so similar, which made me think of making the playlist lol

D.A.N.C.E by Justice is a cool track. Never knew the story about Michael Jackson, interesting.

“Do the D.A.N.C.E
1, 2, 3, 4 Fight!
Stick to the B.E.A.T
Get ready to ignite
You were such a P.Y.T
Catching all the lights
Just easy as A.B.C
That's how you make it right!”
Then later “the way you move is a mystery, do the dance, always there for music and me”

Loads of references
