I have a white label promo 12" of this and you simply have to hear how good the rhythm section sounds with a decent needle digging deep into the first-press vinyl and digging out the very best of the bass and drums. It's a religious experience, let me tell ya.

Ozone is a great, and very underrated, band. They came back in 1982 with another kickass jam,"Strut My Thing".

If one exists let me know Soul, they are one of those early 80's Motown acts that got no attention back then and are forgotten by most now.

This song remains in my playlist til this day that Lady Tee(whom I met a few times) produced. I love the instrumental version also & always wish Teena would have kept it for herself. But of course she barely pumped out three albums before Motown forbid her to release anymore music. What a waste of a talented artist they had.

Oh snap, you're right(just checked again). There's so many groups, rappers etc on Spotify, that are named Ozone, that i missed them the last time i checked. It's weird though. They are the first Ozone listed. IDK what happened the last time. Anyway, cool...

They have five albums titled:

Walk On (1980)

Jump On It (1981)

Send It (1981)

Lil' Suzy (1982)

Glasses (1983)

Hope this helps Joey C!

Didn't Jill also did some backup vocals work for this band too? I read some where she did.

I thought I heard her and Teena Marie's backup vocals on this song Gigolette?

I've always liked this song.. even though it's essentially "Square Biz part II"

very funky, percussive bass line

Not sure,but it seems likely.

I wonder how things would have turned out for Jill if she had signed with Motown and worked with Teena and Rick on her debut album.
