Be Your Girl - Teedra Moses and Kaytranada My music player doesn’t have a “most played list”
If it did I’m pretty sure that over the course of the last few years that this track would be somewhere near the top of that list. It’s a great song in original form (vocals, melody and the structure are all on point) but Kaytranada took it somewhere else. . The original has been one of my jams for awhile, that remix just sounds like mush to me. The busyness of the drums are completely at odds with the silky smooth neosoul design of the song, to me anyway. . It's gorgeous on its own. [Edited 4/30/19 18:04pm]

The remix was my formal introduction to her work. For a while, I greatly preferred it to the original.
Now that I've gotten to know the original song in the content of Complex Simplicity, I love it so much more
Honestly, she makes really strong albums. Cognac & Conversation and ClairVoyant are heavy in my current rotation.
(all these years on the org and I still don't know how to embed videos!) [Edited 5/2/19 19:19pm] [Edited 5/2/19 19:20pm] time flies.
