I am looking forward to read her book. She had been a loyal friend and low key person for the last over seven years. She could had easily speak out after Whitney's death but she rarely did. She was more respectful toward Whitney's death and grieved in silence than some of her OWN family members.
I can related to Whitney as far as struggled with her identity and everyone around her was telling her to be something she wasn't.
No wondered she said Can I Be Me?
But Whitney has never spoken about struggling with her identity as far as being gay, that's just it. Neither she nor Robyn has ever admitted to being in a lesbian relationship, it's all been speculation, that is until now, if Robyn actually says so in her book, and even then, like I said, Whitney is no longer around to admit it. When Whitney said "can I be me"...actually none of know what she meant by that, she could have meant being her natural self, the hood Whitney that she really was, instead of the pop princess those around her tried to make her out to be. In all honesty, none of us know what she meant.
Sorry, but it has never been speculation for those who knew about their relationship. Being gay has always been a problem, it's only been the last decade or so, that the masses except it. It certainly wasn't anything Whitney could have been afforded to be open about. Her parents weren't accepting and her record company certainly wouldn't have welcome it either. Whitney doesn't have to be around to admit anything ... it's not a crime. Robyn can talk about her life, she doesn't need anyone permission. I knew Houston was gay in 1987, the circles I travelled in back then. And according to some in those circles Robyn and Whitney didn't hide it when they felt safe. |

But with Whitney's ultra religious parents plus Clive Davis fake image of Whitney. There was no way Whitney was ever gonna be able to be who she really wanted to be. The mainstream world wasn't about to except it. I feel Robyn should be able to tell her story. She has been Whitney's only ally throughout the years. Both Whitney's family and Bobby have blasted this woman. And she has remained silent. I was alarmed when Whitney's brother Gary(a brother who admitted to doing drugs with his younger sister) called Robyn EVIL. If you ask me it's Whitney's own family and Clive who were the evil ones. I will support Robyn and buy her book when it drops. BlackCat1985 |

I agree with you, except for Clive. He gets way too much of a bad rep, for nothing. He endlessly promoted Houston, even when her career was finished. Eg. through American Idol and other singing competitions making sure her music's rights were not only available, by that her songs were on the contestant song list (choices). People blame him for her final tour, yet he didn't want her to tour, and loaned her 3 mil. She went because she needed the money. He negoiated her huge contract, before he left Arista. Her family has been a complete disappointment with the exception of her mother. Cissy has been candid and honest (she is a woman of a certain generation), if some ppl don't like her responses or opinions, there's nothing to be done about it. Unfortunately, she does have a right to her feelings (and say). Gary Garland has no veractiy, and he and his wife seem to be out for one thing - themselves.

Shame on those of you who are supporting this book do you think that Whitney would want all of her personal secrets revealed? This is nothing more than someone cashing in on their relationship with her. It’s wrong. |

This was Robyn's life also. She and Whitney go way back to teenagers She has a right to tell her story. She was with WHitney for a VERY LONG time and pretty much kept quiet about HER life with Whitney for DECADES. SHe knew the REAL Whitney before fame. Didn't you make a comment about Jesse Johnson in that thread where he was secretly recorded? So you must think Jesse wanted that out there for the public to hear.

I don't know if I will buy this book. I really don't want to know all of the gory details about their relationship.
But, again, as a lot of people have said, the gay rumors followed Nippy for her entire career. Rumors don't usally last that long if there aren't some truth to them. I definately believe Nippy was gay and she had a intimate relationship with Robyn. Robyn certainly has a right to tell her story. Nippy was a major part of her life. It would be unfair to leave her out of Robyn's story out of some kind of respect for Nippy. Being gay is nothing to be ashamed of. If this were a guy writing a story about his affair with Nippy, I don't think he would receive the same kind of backlash from her fans. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! First of all the book isn't even out ! So #1 you don't know what is in the book. #2 all what secrets ? Houston lead her life out in the open, or a least what part of it she could. There isn't much we don't already know, she was pretty messy. She acted a fool, waiting for Bobby outside jail, stnd out of her mind. Or that ridiculous telephone drop with Wendy Williams. Or the Diane Sawyer interview, where she pretends she doesn't know who Burt Barcharach is, because he removed her from the Grammy performance. Robyn will tell her story and I am sure it will be very respectful and truthful. But there will always be those who will find something to bitch about. |

this book will be nothing but tabloid trash.Funny how people who were friends with a celebrity decide to write their own “memoir” it just seems like an obvious attempt to cash in,lol
Maybe Ms. Crawford has grown sick and tired of disparaging remarks from Houston brother and his wife Pat. Both appeared to have issues about Ms. Crawford and felt threatened by Whitney and Robin friendship. Poor Houston, she was surround by a family of sycophants and worse... girl didn't have a snowball chance in hell. |

Pat is a snake in the grass and never really liked Whitney or her lifestyle. According to Leolah Brown the feeling was mutual. As long as she doesn't have Whitney out here looking a total fool in her account, I couldn't care less. I'd trust Robyn more than I would say... Pat Houston. |

I know times are tough in the music industry but, unless it it's for a one-time performance, I always thought this hologram thing was tacky and tasteless. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley
