It’s interesting that this song, which is a favorite among Commodores fans, was never released as a single.I’m thinking that this song would have been a surefire Top 10 smash hit.

According to Wikipedia it was. They didn't list a release date. What I didn't know that Easy was the first single released from the album. I always thought it was Zoom. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

I think Wikipedia got it mixed up I remember "Brick House" being the first single, charting in early 1977 (February,March),while "Easy" was the second single and came out in the summertime. At least that's how I remember it

Zoom was only released as a single overseas...not in the U.S. i always considered it to be the Commodores best song ever..

This is probably one of my favorite albums by The Commodores. ..I loved the huge poster that came inside too...(I remember seeing Tony Manero with one in his room too.. )...This was right around the time when they were starting to become huge....."Zoom" was a big hit on the R&B "quiet storm" shows back then...That's when I used to hear the 8:20 second version.....Thanks for posting this.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton
