Diana Ross bumped into Mary Wilson Diana Ross plays nice wit...cars partyFebruary 25, 2019 | 8:49pm
Ross, with her son Evan, came over to say hello to Quincy Jones, seemingly without realizing that Wilson — who first wrote about their feud in “Dreamgirl: My Life as a Supreme” in 1986 — was sitting next to him.
“Lorna said, ‘OK kids, get to the bunker. This is going to be explosive,’ ” Bego told me. But no drinks were thrown. Wilson graciously said, “Hi, Diana,” hugged her nemesis, and the awkward confrontation was over. Ross’ spokesman Mark Young told me, “She 100 percent knew Ms. Wilson was at the table, that is why she went over. It was a really nice moment.”
“It just continued over the years,” said Bego, who is collaborating with Wilson on her third book, “Supreme Glamour,” due May 30 from Thames & Hudson.

I just saw Diana Ross at the Motown 60 A Grammy Celebration last week. It will be aired in April. Her tribute to Berry is a must see. They need to squash this once and for all. This has been dragging on for too many decades. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

The Supreme's DEFINITELY didn't reunite at the Motown 60 A Grammy Celebration I attended. Even though they were discussed. Pretty hard to change the fate of the Supremes when Florence Ballard left Earth in 1976.

Smokey rules. I was just watching "Who killed Sam Cooke" on NETFLIX and he was saying Sam Cooke's group used to sing at the church in Chicago where Dionne Warwick and Aretha Franklin attended, adding that Aretha was Smokey's oldest living friend (obviously at the time of filming). Just reinforced how precious and legendary this man is.

I was listening to Smokey sing at the 'Motown 60 A Grammy Celebration' I attended. Although that's not the first time I've seen him sing live at various industry events. I was thinking this man's voice HAS NOT changed ONE bit. He did a great job co-hosting with Cedric The Entertainer. I still remember reading Mary's memoir and seeing interviews with her and Diana back in the '80s...and you could see the fur rise and hear the hiss any time either name was mentioned...

i always thought mary was way prettier than diana, diana looked wierd to me, always, the cocked eyes, the sneering smile, and those are her good points. wilson picket had a funny story of how he used to drive around with the supremes before they were stars and that diana was the ugly duckling who they put in the see facing towards the back of the car, fucked up but I could see why, diana was wierd looking, but maybe that's what made her, she had her own wierd look. Nice bootie though.

Her daughter Tracee(whom I worked with) looks just as odd to me. But different kind of looks work in the industry. iI's what sets individuals apart from eachother. there's a story dick cavett tells of a time he and eddie murphy were seeing diana live, eddie tells cavett to "grab her ass cavett" as she walked through the audience, and he did it.

I thought Diana wore butt pads. Because sometimes she would be flat as a pancake. I'm not really buying the big butt Diana. All I remember is that she was thin as a rail with humongous hair. Poking fun but I still admired her when I was a kid and young adult. Still love her Mahogany album and The Boss. And I loved her tribute song to Marvin Gaye:

Like then as still now, Mary Wilson continues in holding her own. She's always been, and continues in being as every bit as beautiful, if not more, imo, as Ross. Life's indeed short, but with some things, as the same with certain people, it is what it is. Wilson is a music survivor in her own right.

Yes, she is. A friend of mine won tickets to go see Mary (and the New Supremes LOL) back in the '80s when Diana was still at the height of her fame. Mary defintely had the better voice; just wish I could have heard her own music and not just the Supremes. Interesting note--this was in a small club and Tennessee Williams gave one of his last readings of an original poem the same night... But, even though I was next to the podium, you could barely hear him speak, it was a loooong poem. and he was in ill health. Really wish I could read the entire poem now--don't think it was ever published by the estate. Sounds like the Prince estate, eh? Yeah. I saw Mary too in New York in '01 at B.B. King's Blues Club. It was a great show. But then again, I also saw Diana in Zurich in '08 and that was great too. A shame these too can't get along and do a real Supremes reunion. [Edited 3/4/19 8:32am]

I wish Berry Gordy would've let Holland Dozier Holland to anchor more songs toward both Mary and Flo, but hey, it was what it was at the time lol
